I'll say the cons first:
The fading function seems linked to how dim the light is already, so if you set your color selections very low in the DIY section, the fading function makes it blink really fast instead of fading in and out slowly, since the light is already dim. On full brightness, it does fade slower but it's still a bit fast. I wish there was a way to control the speed of that more.
I was also hoping to be able to control the speed of the nebula's rotation, but as of right now I haven't been able to do that. On my old projector you could make the waves rotate very fast or hardly move at all.
I do like the nebula look also, but I find it slightly less captivating than some of the ones that rotate in patterns. I understand some people don't like those though, because they can often lag and jitter when changing shape. This one has a very natural look which my fiancé loves.
The lasers, at their lowest setting, are still pretty bright unfortunately.
Also, not really a con for me, but unlike a lot of others available on amazon, it does not have a speaker. I never used the speaker on mine but if you are looking for one that can play music, you'll have to look elsewhere.
Pros:
I love the DIY setting through the app, I was disappointed at first in seeing that the dimmest setting is still pretty bright, but if you make your own setting you can set all the colors incredibly low so that they're comfortably dim. Red, like my old projector, is still the dimmest so I used only that for sleep. Even blue or green on %1 saturation was unfortunately kinda bright, but maybe I'm sensitive.
The device itself feels much sturdier than my previous one, no unnecessary pieces or buttons attached, it's very simple and I think ideal for clumsy children (or adults like myself.)
I think I might've read some reviews talking about the device's noise, but I didn't hear anything.
I can't comment on the timer function because I didn't use it. I prefer just having it on all night and turning it off whenever I wake up. I usually get up several times a night so I prefer being able to see.
Like I said, it's very pretty and realistic looking (minus the laser green stars, still pretty, just unrealistic lol) and it makes for a very comfortable and calming sensory space. I would recommend it for people who are autistic/ have ADHD and enjoy visual sensory input.

The app gives a little more freedom than the button presets. You can adjust the brightness of each nebula color (red green & blue) as well as the stars from 0% to 100%, toggle rotation, and fade. For me the stars were a bit too bright and uniform, the starfield is very dense. By lowering the star brightness to 30% they seemed to blend much better with the nebula. You can create custom sets and cycle through the presets, enable the timer, etc. Since the projector is across the room, I use the app to turn it off from bed.
The projector is dead silent and has a good throw, especially in rooms with high ceilings. For the price I think it does an excellent job, creating a nice ambience in our bedroom. I wish the nebulas were a little brighter, but the stars are very bright. As mentioned above the starfield is very dense and although they're somewhat randomly distributed, they can seem a bit uniform in places, you can pick out some patterns. Dimming them helped as some stars faded in and out of the nebula clouds. It's a somewhat simple effect - you're not exactly getting a planetarium with the blue stars. But very effective how the light plays off the rotation of the nebula clouds.
Overall, I love it. Perfect for relaxing at the end of the night.
The projector is well-made and has a sleek design. It comes with an AC power adapter and a user manual. It's not very loud and it doesn't get hot after hours of use. The laser and LED lights are very bright and clear, and they cover a large area on the ceiling and walls. The nebula cloud can change colors from blue to red to purple, or you can choose a single color or a combination of colors. The green stars are very realistic and they twinkle gently.
This projector is perfect for creating a cozy and romantic atmosphere in any room. I like to use it when I'm reading, listening to music, meditating, or just chilling out. It helps me relax and fall asleep faster. It also makes a great gift for anyone who loves astronomy or sci-fi. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to transform their space into a galaxy of wonder.
