That was a simple straightforward question. The fact that you&#39;ve yet to get an answer, I would interpret as a YES.

That sounds like the shifter mechanisms needed adjustment. The rear mechanism can also be bent, especially if the bike falls over.

My DSB needed quite a bit of adjustment to get the gears working without any scraping noises. I suspect most of those will come from the front changer. You need to set the height of the changer properly, and also make sure it's parallel to the chainwheel. Next set up the low limit screw so that there's no scraping when you are in the lowest gear - i.e. chainwheel #1 and sprocket #1. The adjust the cable so that there is no scraping in the highest gear, i.e. chainwheel #3 and sprocket #7. Also note that with the 14-16-18-20-24-28 freewheel and the 28-38-48 chainwheels, there is "gear overlap". So you should use sprockets #3 thru #7 when in the big chainring, #3, but only sprockets #3 thru #5 when in the middle ring, #2, and sprockets #1 thru #5 in the smallest ring, #1.

I just had a shwinn sidewinder and on some of the gears the chain scraped against the bike , will this bike have the same problem?

Unless you like to set the saddle really low, it will be too small. I'm 5'10" and have to set the seatpost as high as it will go.

If you prefer alow saddle height it could work. I'm 5'11" and have to set the seatpost as high as it will go, but I ride in a position that gives maximum power rather than comfort. You can get longer seatposts, however. 220lbs shouldn't be a problem, but the inner tubes that came with mine fail at anything above 50 psi.

I purchase it online and put it together myself.  It was an upgrade from my other Walmart bike (Roadmaster).  This one is fast and I love the disk brakes. After riding it for 200 miles (out-the-box), I took it to my local bike shop for a tune up. It rides way better now. They adjusted gears and breaks. I take it all over town every day and I am very satisfy with it.

I've had a 700c DSB Hybrid from Schwinn before.  I loved that bicycle and this one is a step up with the disc brakes and really mean looking red, grey, and black color scheme.  Great for street riding or mild trails.

Great multi-purpose bike, great price

One of the least expensive 700c bikes with aluminum frame, suspension fork and disc brakes out there, but also very good quality. Basic setup was very good, wheels were straight and true, brake adjusted correctly and both derailleurs spot on. Bought it for conversion to an ebike (see picture), so had the chance to disassemble most of it and liked the quality of construction.

Excellent large sized bike for the money

I had been a avid cyclist for well over 20 years I had stopped because of health problems I decided to try riding again I knew I would not be capable to ride the way I used to, so there was no reason to purchase a high end bike I looked at the Shwinn DSB 700c  I felt it would be a good bike so went through with the purchase. 
I have to say I am incredibly pleased I have now gone over 700 miles with my Shwinn DSB I just had a tune up an changed brake pads looking forward to reaching 1000 miles before the heat of summer I have made minor additions I went with panaracer comet tires a bit better grip on loose gravel and added bar ends better climbing carbon fiber seat and post shave a little weight I am looking forward to many more years and miles with my Shwinn DSB 700c

Best bike in forever! Works best with custom “Surfas” (from Amazon) inner tubes if u pimp it up2 44 pounds of pressure. Will go nearly speed bike speed. Well built piece of machinery with better inner tubes

Just phenomenal

this bicycle is an amazing value for the price given the current bicycle market. 

pros:
1. comfy seat, handlebar grips, and front fork suspension. 
2. tires are good griping with low rolling friction. 
3. good riding position
4. good bike for installing a rear rack
5. disc brakes are fantastic and function flawlessly once initial setup/ adjustments are made.  hasn't warped over time, holds its settings well. 
6. shifting mechanism is reliable and convenient vs the old twist grip clicking shifters.

neutral:
1. front suspension not adjustable.  kind of spongy suspension, not as firm as what I'm used to.  this could be a pro or a minus depending on what you like.

cons:
1. crankset creaks on mine, but just an annoying sound, it pedals smoothly and only presents itself when I'm really pedaling hard in high gear.
