Ours had a slight rubber smell when I first opened them.  The odor dissipated within a few days.   This is a great set for what I paid.   I liked it so much that I added a pair of 35 and 40 lb dumbbells that fit nicely below the bottom shelf.

For those who have purchased this set and said there was an odor - has the smell gone away?

Yes there is a smell. It goes away after a few days out of the box.

Yes the black rubber coating rubs off AT FIRST. Just like the smell, after a few days out in the open everything seems to "set" and no more rub off of any kind.

Would recommend 10/10.

This is the best deal I have ever found on Weider weights.  Usually you pay around $1 per pound.  The weights are durable and the stand keeps them from being spread across the floor during workouts.  Awesome buy!!

They are weights that I've owned for about a month. They serve their purpose. I even got an aftermarket part that turns a dumbbell into a kettle bell, so that was pretty cool. Your not my friend, but I would recommend it to even you.

BEWARE!! They are heavy.

These are a great set of dumbbells the only negative thing is they had an order to them when I first took them out of the box.  It seems like it is going away.

Weider 200 pound Dumbbell set just arrived, I am totally thrilled with it !!
 I ordered through Walmart, I knew if... there was any issue Walmart is reputable and would resolve.  
 No issues at all. Tracking was "excellent and  timely" the packages arrived all together, 3 -Boxes.  I assembled it with NO issues "flawless".... I used 2 socket wrenches.  All the part needed to do it were there and pretty easy assembly.
I love the set, I  put the heavier weights on the bottom in chronological order by weight and that left some space on  the top rack  if needed for something  else. Yes, there is a rubber scent I am sure in time it will dissipate and I am not worried about trivial stuff.

Weider 200 Lb Dumbbell set ... Excellent choice!!

A little pricey, but during this Covid Time, it's a great value.  Weider was the man in fitness and his name still brings the quality - even if the item is sold under several brands, the weider models seem to be of better quality, color, and separation - for the same price.  These were from my oldest son, and they perform nicely now and I'm sure for a very long time.

The Value is There.

Nice weights with hour glass handles.  Comfortable and durable.  I have no idea why people were commenting about the smell...there is none.  Very satisfied with overall function.  My only ask is that you make the rack wider for more capacity.  Many buyers have existing dumbbells and would like to add them to this rack.  Maybe have an option for wider rack and charge a little more.  I bought a 52" wide rack to put all my weights in one place.

Great deal for this weight set. Only downside is the smell. It's been a few weeks and the basement still smells like rubber.

Good dumbbells

The weights are great but the rack is impossible to get together.  It shows 3 bolts on the bottom and the top bar and bottom bar flush against each other.  Not one piece that I have has 3 holes to match the 3 bolt plate and the pix on the box.  The angle makes them not match flush. I reached out to Weider who then sends you to Icon Health and Fitness who is NO help whatsoever. I asked for instructions and sent photos showing how the instructions and box photo don't match the parts I got and the only reply I got was did you register it?  I can't as I have no idea what the serial number and model number is. I didn't keep the box as I didn't think I would need to register it. I also don't see what a registration has to do with giving me instructions for a product you sell to match the darn product itself.  I would not recommend unless you are OK buying a new rack or leaving your weights on the floor.  Photos clearly show 3 bolts on the box and the bars being flush and you can see from what I received this is not the case.
