The outdoor sensor array is easy to install. There are multiple mounting options. That being said, the outdoor sensor array still lacks an easy way to adjust the true north of the device. The sensor array should have a pivoting base with a lock or provide some way to adjust the true north on the display. The rain gauge is not very accurate.
The initial setup was a snap. Follow the instructions on the front page of "WS0310 Weather Station Quick Setup Instruction". Just install the outdoor sensor and plug in the display.
The WiFi setup was confusing. The back page of the "WS0310 Weather Station Quick Setup Instruction" contains the "APP WiFi Simple Setup Guide". That guide is a train wreck and the Sainlogic iPhone app never connected the device to our WiFi, it just sat there saying connecting. We don't recommend downloading the Sainlogic phone app, just connect the phone to the device's WiFi and use the "Console WiFi Configuration Via Webpage" (page 12 of the "Sainlogic APP WiFi Setup Guide").
The range between the outdoor sensor array and the display is pretty good we have had the display all over our house over 50 feet away from the sensor array. The WiFi range is also pretty good we have not had any place where the device lost the WiFi connection.
Besides the true north, Wifi setup issue, and the rain gauge sensor, the WS0310 is a really great weather station. We use it every day and have had no issues with it or it's predecessor the FT0835-plus which we had since 2021.

I struggled with the WiFi connection for several days. The main problem is that the station will only accept connections on the 2.4 GHz band. If you have a dual band router (2.4 and 5 GHz) you must disable the 5 GHz band or you won't be able to connect no matter what you do! If your router has only 2.4 GHz, you should have no problem. Just follow the instruction in the manual. But with a dual band router, you'll have to log into the router's set-up page and disable the 5 GHz connection. It probably helps to be a bit of a computer geek to feel comfortable doing that, but it's relatively straightforward. You can Google your particular router for instructions.
My problem was more complicated. I have an Optimum dual band modem/router, and Optimum does not allow you to access the router's set-up page. When you type in the router's IP address (for example, 192.168.1.1), it just takes you to an Optimum page with very limited options and no way to disable 5 GHz. (This is close to criminal, in my view.) I don't know if all Optimum routers are like this, or if other companies have routers with the same limitation, but here's the way I eventually solved the problem. Maybe it will help others with the same issue.
I had an old 2.4 GHz router lying around (the Dlink Dir-601). I installed this as a second router on my network. You should be able to install the second router without accessing the primary router's set-up page as long as you know the primary router's IP address. Numerous YouTube videos explain the process. (This may take a little research. You can't just connect the second router to the primary router with a cable and expect it to work. Just Google "connect two routers" for the procedure.)
I had my primary modem/router connected to the PC with an Ethernet cable. Once the 601 was installed, I disabled the primary router (under Network, Change Adapter Settings in Windows). That meant that all connections went through the 601 using the 2.4 GHz band. I could then follow the instructions in the Sainlogic manual and easily access the WiFi set-up page (192.168.5.1) and follow the instructions in the manual. When I finished, I just enabled the primary router again, and all was fine.
If you're reasonably comfortable with slightly geeky computer stuff, nothing here is very difficult, but it is needlessly complicated. I fault both Sainlogic and Optimum. If Sainlogic firmware provided for dual band connection, the whole process would be ridiculously easy. If Optimum allowed access to the modem's set-up page, the process would be almost as easy. As it is, it can be extremely frustrating and discouraging. At best, it requires a fair bit of fiddling. But the weather station itself seems to be quite decent and a good value for the price.
