Best Combination Grille / Smoker I have owned in the last 30 years, period ! Perfect shipping, packaging, assembly instructions and functionality. The best of all worlds - Temperature controlled charcoal cooking. The only grille on the market I am aware of that does it all, at a great price to boot.

The price is unbeatable, if it's still half priced order it asap.  Took bout 1-2 hours to assemble, which was both east and difficult.  (My last grill was a pellet smoker) After seasoning the grates I threw on a few chicken breasts since I had the grill hot and they were mouth watering.  The easiest charcoal grill I've ever used, just threw a firestarter cube in the lump charcoal and in 30 min I was in the 350's.  It runs a little hot likely ver efficient, so watch a few you tube videos to get the tricks but outstanding buy.  I will absolutely force all my friends to consider buying one.

Let's strat from the beginning. Opened the box, nothing was dented or scratched. The instructions had to be the best I've ever seen for a BBQ. All you need for assembly is a Philips screwdriver. That's it! Amazing.  Went together in about an hour. That's unboxing and assembly. Put some charcoal in it and oiled the grill top to season the grill worked perfectly. First thing I cooked on it was a Boston butt. Did an amazing job on it. This thing is so easy to use and get going holds it temperature very well.  I do a lot of BBQ and I hate to say it but this thing has made me say good bye to the weber.

Love this grill/smoker! I was able to pick this up for $220 in early December 2022. At that price, it wasn't even a question. However, my opinion would be the same had I paid full price for it. Fairly easy to assemble compared to other grills that I have put together myself.

The main reason I wanted a Kamado style grill was to smoke ribs at low temperatures and this does exactly that. I can easily keep the temperature between 200-225F and ribs come out pretty amazing. I have been smoking a rack of ribs once a week since I made the purchase a few months ago. I've also cooked lots of wings, drumsticks, thighs, sausages, brats, burgers, shrimp, mushrooms and the list goes on. I absolutely love the smoked flavor that this grill produces. Everything comes out tasting great. My preference is good quality lump charcoal (B

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the auto Akorn to replace my non-auto Akorn. So glad I did, this Kamado is awesome and does a great job regulating the temperature.  This grill is amazing and at such a great price compared to the competition. Highly recommend.

Best Kamado at a great price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been rocking this pit since it came out. SUPER efficient. I can get at least 30 hours out of a cook. Accurate. Portable. I use this pit at least twice a week. Low and slows to 700° sears. I've used it in competitions. It's tough. It fell iff my trailer at 30 mph. She is scarred but works like a champ still. 10/10 recommend

Love This Pit!!

Great grill for everything from low and slow to hot and fast! We do pizza at 700!  Go slow firing it up, one firestarter and let go open for 3 to 5 minutes.  Then open damper to what controller recommends. Close the lid and the controller does the rest.   (Mine runs a little hot so I go just a bit under what it says).  Join the Auto Akorn Facebook group for tips advice and great ideas!  Great miser of charcoal!  When finished cooking close lid and damper and you'll have charcoal for next cook

The kamado cover came in with a big dent.  I returned and re-ordered but to my surprised the second kamado also came with same exact dent. After investigating, I’m certain that it is the way this product is packaged. The third leg inside the box is what is causing the dent.  I have the original Akorn to compare and I find that the quality on this is not as good.  Out of the box the seal between the cover and the body has some spot where it is not glued.  Besides the big dent, there are small dimple dents on the body.  I was able to connect the app with controller with bluetooth but the wifi, while having great signal shown in the app, will not connect. This limits the monitoring if the temp within bluetooth distance.  The app is not ready and require further development.  I like that it came in with the deflector.  I like that there is no guessing how to reach and maintain temperature.  Overall, it was very promising in paper but didn’t quite deliver.

Packaging issue causing dent and wifi issue

Complete junk.  I've had this for just a few weeks.  It has been under a cover on a covered porch.  Looks brand new, but receiving erf error message it has failed on the 3rd use.  Completely unacceptable. I owned the regular Akorn and it was great, but I was really looking forward to the automated controller.  To bad this is junk.  No more chargriller products for me.
