Great cab but not the fun I thought it would be.
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beautiful cab but I ended up selling the machine for a couple of reasons - I didn't play it nearly as much as I thought I would and the sound quality was so bad, it really detracted from the game play. I'm not into modding so I wasn't particularly interested in trying to make any sound fixes.

Racing arcade with a steering wheel at home!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This arcade takes some effort to put together, but is totally worth it! I always loved racing games in the arcade, and this one comes with pedals and a steering wheel. You basically won't need the brake at all (just take your foot off the gas), and the steering wheel "snaps back" to the center position a little more strongly than it should, but otherwise the quality is top-notch. The included games are all very similar but fun to play, and the racing is surprisingly difficult to master. You'll be lucky to finish your first race, let alone place in the top 10. But once you figure it out (take your foot off the gas going into a sharp corner to start turning, then accelerate and drift around the corner), you'll get the rush of finishing first place. Overall, an excellent addition to my home arcade by Arcade1Up, and I highly recommend it. 5 stars!

Driving Game is a Big Hit with the Grandkids!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ridge Racer Stand Up Arcade is a great driving game. It is easy to play for all ages. My 6 and 10 year old grandsons absolutely love it! It includes a light-up marquee, rumble steering wheel, gas pedal and brakes, two-way shifter, and WIFI for leaderboards. To keep the driving simpler for the grandsons, I play the driving games that feature automatic transmission. I added a Philips HUE Light Strip to the back of the cabinet, which accentuates the game against the back wall. A HUE Motion Sensor activates the light whenever someone enters the game room & adds to the "cool factor". You can select the light strip color by asking Alexa to "Set the Ridge Racer" to Red, Blue, or any color you choose. Note the added back light in my photos. Despite being originally released in 1993, Ridge Racer has beautiful optics & is quite modern. It has been a big hit with adult guests, as well. I highly recommend it.

Arcade room

Pretty awesome game, pedals are a little sketchy
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Assembly is a bit of a pain with this one but the finished product is so fun. Both kids and adults love playing this and it looks great. I did have an issue with a single pilot hole being about a half inch off, I just made a new pilot and sunk the screw without issue. The pedals work fine, but they are far from true arcade quality. Have to be a bit gentle with them as the base is made out of a thin ABS, feels like an adult could shatter it if they stomped on it. Aside from that, it's a total blast and it gets a lot of use in our game room. Happy with my purchase despite the assembly and pedal set quality.

RIDGE RACERRRR!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a fan of the Ridge Racer series, I'm thrilled to have my own home arcade version of it. Three Ridge Racer games, plus two excellent formula one racers - Ace Driver and its sequel, Victory Lap. The steering wheel is much better than expected and features rumble feedback for three of the five games. The pedals are cheap plastic, but you can purchase covers for them for about $20 on Amazon. The speakers are the weakest feature on here, however there's is a headphone jack. I plugged in my old Bose satellite speakers and, wow, it sounds fantastic! If you don't want to stand and play, pulling up a stool and sitting down to race is comfortably possible. Overall, a fun racing cab that looks amazing and plays great.

Solid cabinet and gameplay, but needs sound upgrad
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Solid cabinet once it’s put together. There are tons of unassembled parts in the box, and even more screws and wooden peg fasteners. I’d buy assembly if it’s offered, or definitively bring a friend Steering Wheel and Gear Shift are high quality and gameplay is solid. Sound is rather awful, but a cheap set of 2.1 computer speakers improve things greatly. Gas and brake petals seem flimsy, but are functional

Ridgeeeee Racer!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own several real arcade cabinets, including the real Ridge Racer cabinet. However, at the price of $400 on sale i just had to pick it up as part of my collection. It maybe 3/4 scale however it is really not that bad of a cabinet size wise. I stand only 5.8 but it is perfectly sized for me. The BOE monitor helps. And the addition of several games helps the price go down. I recommend this cabinet to any racing fans too.

Q: QuestionCan a 9 year old enjoy this game or are they too small?
Asked by Pete.
- A:Answer I think from a size perspective, they will be mostly fine. However, unlike other Arcade1up machines, this does not offer an “extra lives” button to help you get through the game. Currently, it’s still like the original arcade with constant checkpoints throughout the course that if you don’t reach, the race is over. And like the original arcade, these time goals are difficult to reach. I’m sure with lots of practice a 9 year old can get good enough to handle it, but I’m sure it would be very frustrating initially. It’s a lot to spend on a game that your child might have difficulty getting to finish even one lap. I’m hoping there’s a patch in the future to allow you to add more time because it’s difficult for even me.

Q: QuestionDoes the game come assembled?
Asked by Reno.
- A:Answer Does not come assembled but I have put together the three of them so far and just like the others very simple easy to follow instructions. I think anyone can do it.

Q: QuestionDoes this have a rumble wheel and lit marquee like the one Arcade1up is selling directly? Could I use it without the riser for a sit down if I provide my own seat? I prefer to sit for racing games and the spot I plan to put it in is 4 ft tall w slope roof
Asked by Robert.
- A:Answer Yes, it has the rumble wheel and lit marquee. Though not all the racing games support the rumble. As for sitting, you can either use a tall stool in front of the cabinet on the riser (which is what I do sometimes), or you could remove the riser and just slide the pedal plate forward. The pedal plate fits nicely in the notched area of the riser, but you can easily slide it forward. It just has a long cable that goes under the cabinet and connects in the back. You could run that around the side and put it directly on the floor, though keep in mind the pedals will stick out a few inches farther than they do when sitting inside the riser.
