You would sure want to keep the heater on because the spa is made of plastic you wouldn't want the water freezing.

The instruction booklet recommends not using or leaving it up in temps below 40F.

It is not recommend to use during rain. Hope that helps.

I think I read in the instructions it can not be used in under 30 degrees.

it can be, but if you live in a very cold area it would cost a lot to keep it running as you need to keep it headed all the time, and if it drops below 40 it will not work.

I sure don't know why there are a bunch of identical answers to this question, because this hot tub is NOT to be outdoors in temps under 40 degrees. Not sure what the winters are like where you are, but here in Northern Illinois our days are LUCKY to get to the 40;s. We set this tub up in the garage and the minute the cover was off the temp dropped....and quickly. You are much better off setting up in the basement on a cement floor with a drain nearby, as this will splash water out when the jets are on and full of people.

We are using it outside on a screened in porch. We live in Myrtle Beach, SC. I think it's not recommended for the "north" because of the temperatures up there.

I've used mine all week and temps have ranged from 8F to 29F for the high and it has not had any problems. Water stays at 104 when it is coveted....cools off a little when you get in and use the bubbles.....but it is so cool sitting in the tub when it is 20 degrees and seeing the steam rise off the water. I don't think it has been above freezing all week and so far, everything is fine.

If you use it below freezing, just make sure you keep it running and heating.....and make sure the filters stay clean as you don't want the pump to stop with a 'low flow' error (E2).

My guess is the reason the manual says 40 is because there are no freeze protection circuits so if the pump did stop, for example low flow due to dirty filters), the pump would freeze and be ruined. So if you use it in freezing temps, just be careful and keep an eye on it.

Hello, yes it can be used outside in the winter. The temperature that the Coleman Lay-Z-Spa goes up to is 104 degrees. Upon purchase we suggest consumers reference the Users Manual for specific climate/region temperatures of use. I made an insulated box for the unit and insulated the pipes. (make sure not to cover the air holes on the spa side at the bottom. That makes the bubbles) I do live in the Southeast so winters aren&#39;t brutal but mine stayed at 104 all winter.  I was in it while it was snowing. That was pretty cool.  **I will say that I only slid the lid just enough to get in to help retain heat.**

No the heat turns off when the bubbles are on, but if you set it to 104 F you will be fine as far as heat.

The heater does not work when the bubbles are on.

The bubbles shut off when the heater is on. It retains comfortable temperature for about an hour after turning the bubbles on.

Heater shuts off and temperature actually does drop rather quickly with some feeling of the cool air in the water, mine in a 65 degree basement drops a degree fahrenheit a minute with the bubbles on.

The heater will remain at the temperature the user sets, however once the Lay-Z-Massage system is turned on the heater does stop and the temperature slowly drops due to the air being blown inside the water. For customer support please contact us at 1-855-838-3888.

A quick google search returned a couple of viable sources.
Also, there should be a part number on there that you can take to your local pool supply store and have them order one.

We ordered ours from Sears as Walmart was out of stock!

They seemed easy to clean my teenage son checked that out, the supplies are on line

I got a box of 12 for about $35 on Amazon. However, I do not see that they need cleaning, and certainly not replacing as often as some persons have reported. In fact, for us they are lasting as long as the filters on my previous spa.
