I was hesitant on buying this sound bar. Lots of people saying that it cuts out and they have to unplug it, not just here but other places. But I went ahead and I bought it anyways after many days of thinking about it. 

I have owned this about 3 weeks now and I have had no problems once it was connected. The sound, all considering, is pretty impressive. The bass is decent, considering it's a small sub. I've watched old tv shows, new tv shows, movies of all genres and from different decades. It is a great sound quality for the price and the size of all the speakers.   

One thing I do recall reading with the sound bar cutting out is that it seemed as if people were using HDMI. I don't know if it's a bad one or maybe something with the HDMI but I use the optical option. And I have had no issues at all, again only being about 3 weeks, but it gets used often. 

Set up was the only thing that was tricky. It could be the number of Bluetooth devices I have that was causing interference, it could have been a glitch in the firmware. But pairing the sun to the sound bar was a little challenging. It should have paired up right away on its own. It didn't for me. I moved closer and tried to put both the sound bar and sun in pairing mode.  That didn't work. I did see a way to “factory reset” the both of them. Once I did that, it connected right away.  Now that I think about it I was pairing my phone with it too so that may have been causing some connection issues. 

However, I have the sun about 20 feet from the sound bar, behind our couch and that hasn't disconnected either, which was something that was in the back of my head knowing how Bluetooth works. 

Overall considering the price, the service up, the sound, the size of all the speakers, it is a really nice sound bar that has a great sound to it. For this price I might just buy another one for my sons room since he wants a surround sound. 

I usually don't write reviews but just wanted to voice my opinion about those that say it keeps cutting out and that using the optical source I have had no problem. Maybe someday I'll try the HDMI and write another review on how that works….but then again it's like the old saying goes. Why ruin a good thing.

Great sound bar for the price, paranoia passed by

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I upgraded from a competing brand's 2.1 soundbar to this model from Vizio, and the very first thing I noticed was how much time Vizio had put into making setup easy. I'm pretty well-versed in AV gear (I have a full 5.1 setup using tower speakers and an AV receiver), but I was a bit surprised that some sound bars don't provide good advice on setting things up. Vizio is awesome in that regard, and also includes just about every cable you could want (including the HDMI cable, which should be required but is typically omitted!). I really liked that there were multiple reminders to use the HDMI ARC connection for TVs. A lot of folks may not know what that is or why it's important.

The only annoying aspect of setup was that the speaker gave voice prompts about "searching", etc. that were way too loud! I struggled to press the volume button repeatedly so that while it searched for the subwoofer, it wouldn't keep screaming about what it was doing. You may want to have your finger on the volume button during setup just to catch this thing before it starts talking! Remember that while the subwoofer is "wireless", it most definitely needs to be plugged into a wall outlet, and it also serves as the "base station" for the surround speakers, so you'll want to find a location near the rear of your seating area to place the sub that also has a wall outlet.

Once set up, this kit was flawless, and in particular, I really liked that the subwoofer produced a good amount of bass. It's a bit small and light, so I thought it wouldn't keep up with my previous kit that had a larger sub, but it sounded great. And the surround speakers really do add a lot of ambient effects. You could definitely hear them, without it being too obvious. The package even includes small wall mounts for these, plus another set for the soundbar itself.

Overall, I'm very impressed. You're getting a lot of value for your money with this kit, and Vizio has taken the time to make it very easy to setup. That seems like a minor thing, but honestly, it's a big deal, especially for people who are buying a soundbar to get an audio upgrade without the headaches of a full AV system.

Easy to set up, great sound

The sound quality is great, but it refuses to work reliably. I keep having to unplug it and then plug it back in for it to reset and connect to my TV. So much so that in the 3 months I have owned it, it's probably spent more time unplugged than it has plugged in. Searching for a replacement because this is not worth the hassle.

Look elsewhere for something better.

I was looking for a solution to eliminate the wires from the TV to the back speakers. This seemed perfect. It's not. I have a Klipsch sound bar and sub for another TV and this sound bar is just not as full. The sub is noisy and rattles. I will probably return it and keep searching for options.

Works well enough, but not fantastic.

I bought this November 2021 and I fell in love with it, it was a great surround sound. BUT now it's March 2022 and the subwoofer started popping last week and now consistently pops every few minutes. Didn't even last 4 months :( I'm very disappointed that I wasted money on something that wouldn't last even a year.

Didn't last

This has been the biggest pain in my rear. We had to go buy a special receiver box because we had more than one HDMI connection. The rear speakers would randomly stop. Would run a sound test to get them back on. Now we have the sound bar randomly loosing sound. Have had to unplug it 4 times this evening. It's also giving a glitchy picture that is unwatchable. Disconnecting this POS and it's going back tomorrow. I thought it would be great with all the reviews but I was so wrong. If I could rate it less than one star I would!

Don't waste your money

This sound bar consistently disconnects from audio sources. I have a Vizio tv and hoped it would simplify things. It has not. The sound bar consistently disconnects from the tv and other audio sources. It will then refuse to reconnect unless you unplug the sound bar. Reading the reviews this is a consistent problem with this model. Vizio customer service has been ok to deal with. They are sending me a replacement, we will see if the new one works any better. Very disappointed with my purchase.

This is my second unit, exchanged the first one after a month, I thought maybe a defective unit. It's now been 6 months and this on just gave out. Any plugged in via ARC is pink just pink washed image and the speakers will randomly stop working and you have disconnect the power for them to work again. I'm filling a warranty claim with vizio and I'll see what happens.

Sound bar: quirky. Makes loud click sometimes; shuts itself off sometimes; ignores its remote and have to turn on by hand from the bar itself. The only way to start the bar when starting TV, cable, and the system is to unplug and plug back in. 
The subwoofer has too much “vibration”? In the bass.

Very disappointed.

DO NOT BUY !! Save your money and buy a better or different product. I have bought 2 of them ( the first one i got on black Friday for 150.00ish )  the sound kept cutting out on it so i returned it. the second one i got today and sound cut out on it too about 3 hours after i set it up ! Very frustrating to deal with. Can not recommend!!
