Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

Customers like the comfort and appearance of the bench. For example, they say it's very comfortable and the seat is curved. They also appreciate the design of the rounded top which gives it a more expensive, and classic, teak. That said, some complain about the holes and pegs for assembly. That being said, opinions are mixed on ease of assembly and fit.

Assembly was a breeze and it went together in minutes with no problem. The hard plastic "feet" which screw into the bottom of the legs allow you to balance the bench on uneven surfaces but, more importantly, help to keep the wood 1/4 inch off the ground to minimize wicking of water into the legs. That's a thoughtful design and this feature, alone, should help the bench last longer.
Also, I nearly forgot to mention that it is exceptionally comfortable. Outside of a cherry glider we purchased years ago (from a maker that is sadly no longer in business), this is the most comfortable wooden bench we own, out of 4 total.
It isn't the least expensive bench you can buy, but if you can get it under $300, I'd say it is a steal. I only wish they made it in a 5-foot length.
1. The end of the seat cross-member, second from the left, extended out 1/8" too far towards the front such that the peg hole of the front horizontal brace would not fit. I could have asked you to send me an entire seat replacement but I decided to sand down the cross-member until the pegs fit properly and securely in place.
2. The top of the back rest had two deep scratches about 5" from center each side, and I lightly sanded those down, but are still very visible.
3. I got all of the pegs to fit in place but not without a lot of effort. I used (elastic) bungee cords to hold all of the pieces in place and had to essentially maneuver each piece until I could tap all the pegs in. You may consider providing six bungee cords as an assembly tool. They are cheap and I could not have done the assembly without the cords holding the pieces in place (see picture). Also, a simple straightforward written assembly instruction would be a lot of help, instead of just having to rely on a picture.
Other than that, I really like the wood quality so I consider the purchase worthwhile. I'm a retired engineer so I have the ability to figure things out when it comes to assembly. However, for other common folks, assembly of the set that I got may not be feasible, thus warranty problems and loss of sale. Hope my technical input on this product is helpful. Will I be recommending it? I guess it depends on whether the purchaser is up to the assembly challenge.
One more thing. I just finished applying the "Teak Oil" that I ordered with the product and I am totally disappointed with the result. I expected the constituency of "oil" but instead got one that should have been labeled "Teak Varnish". I started applying the "oil" on the wood and it was then too late to stop after realizing the "oil" was just too thick. I completed the job but didn't like the fact that the fine teak wood is now covered with a "shiny varnish". I definitely do not recommend using this "Teak Oil".
All I can say is GOOD LUCK , if you decide to purchase. And by all means, buy another "Teak Oil" that has oil consistency. Your bench will look so much better. The way mine looks now is "just another inexpensive cheap bench".
