This steam mop is so simple to use! I've never had one before, so I don't know how it compares to other steam mops. But I have owned and used traditional mops (pretty much any that don't plug in)...and I LOVE this! No more bending over and no more having to buy expensive chemicals. This thing only takes water. You're supposed to use distilled, but I just used tap water. I love the fact that I don't have to wait 30 minutes for the floor to dry after mopping. Because of the steam, the dry time is very minimal...only a matter of a couple of minutes or less.

It comes with 2 scented discs that easily insert into a mesh pocket on the inside of the removable mop head(s). The steam combined with the scented freshening disc(s) emits a really pleasant clean smell but without the use of cleaning chemicals; which is great especially if you have young children. There are 2 mop heads; one for light cleaning and a more textured one for heavier cleaning. These both are machine washable. It has a kick-down scrubber on the back that clicks into place and you manually scrub with your foot by applying pressure. There's a release button that pops it back up when not in use. There is a notch just below the handle that will hold the cord straight up and out. The water reservoir pulls out and seats again easily and holds probably around 3+ cups of water which is a lot. I cleaned my kitchen (laminate) floor, bathroom (tile/grout) floor, and hardwood floor hallway and a bedroom and still had leftover water. I like being able to use this on the wood in our home, because the other wood cleaners are quite expensive.

When you plug in the mop, a blue light begins blinking. It blinks for about 30 seconds and then stays solid and it's ready for use. You push the same button multiple times to choose your steam setting...low, medium, high and just heating up.

The steam really lifts up/off stuck-on food without the need to scrub at it. This was impressive to me. Using this mop is great for my family, since you only use water, the dry time is minimal and it's quick and easy to keep my floors clean and sanitized. Super easy to use and so effective!

DEEP cleaning without cleanser!

Okay, I'm not going to lie and tell anyone I'm a clean freak and had to have a steam floor cleaner because of my OCD... as you will see from the before and after pictures, I hardly have time to notice the floor of my bathroom (I have three boys, okay?) since I started having kids 18 years ago, so the prospect of hosting the church ladies here got me a bit panicky and I ordered this mop. Never used a steam mop before, but I know they're popular and have friends who love them. Got this one, read the directions and had it put together and filled with water in under ten minutes, ready to tackle the bathroom floor. Honestly, it has not been really MOPPED with an industrial strength cleaner in a good five years. Just wet-swiffer and go, that's been my philosophy since the aforementioned kids came along. I had a slight problem figuring out how to turn this thing on maximum steam, and couldn't even figure that out re-reading the directions. To get the mop started, you're just directed to the front panel and the "Steam Level" light at the top of the panel. That light comes on when you plug the thing in (there is no other light to indicate the mop is "on"). Under that are three steam icons, and you can tell the third one, at the top, with two plus signs beside it, is the highest steam setting. I pressed that, thinking it would activate that setting, but it didn't. Turns out you have to press the "steam level" light itself, and then a light toggles between all three levels and you just stop pressing when you get the level you want. Minor point, and maybe my advanced age makes me stupid about these things. Anyway, I just stood and held the mop upright over the worst corner in the bathroom 20 seconds, as told in the directions, and viola, looked at the result and was amazed. Now, keep in mind, I maybe used a bad example because I often had to repeat the steam application in some areas of my bathroom. I know, I'm horrible, but also brave to reveal these pictures. Don't show anyone. Long and short of it is, I loved the results; it really did get rid of the built-up grime and boy-dirt-from-outside and I was blown away. It may be worth noting that I had to re-mop with a Mr. Clean solution, but I was expecting to anyway, as a steam cleaner gets rid of dirt and I wouldn't expect it to make my floors shiny. Our house is almost entirely 150-year-old sealed hardwood with the exception of the dirty bathroom, and I tried it on the hardwood too, with very good results. But the hardwood only had a few nasty areas I needed it on; the bathroom, of course, was a very different story. Very pleased with this lightweight, easy-to-use mop. I will have to find replacement mop heads; while these are washable, there were only TWO in the box, and my bathroom alone went through those two in under ten minutes --

WOW, First Time I've Seen Bathroom Floor In Years!

I highly recommend this steam mop! I also recommend having extra cloth mop pads on hand. Note* I did use this mop on a new construction project. It will work better as a daily mop to keep the floors clean after they are clean to begin with. My floors need a good scrub clean before I feel confident in using this for cleaning.

Received my Bissell PowerFresh Steam Mop timely from Walmart.com.

It assembled very easily. 1) snap the pad section on, 2) snap on the handle, 3) add your distilled water, and you're ready to get going. The pad was already attached.

I have always wanted one of these but have had trouble justifying the cost and the fact I can sanitize my floor with just steam. I've grown up with Pine-sol and bleach.....I am very traditional with my floor cleaning. I have never believed in bells & whistles. Give me a sponge, some hot water mixed with my favorite Pine-sol and I'm down on my hands & knees scrubbing by hand. I have always prided myself with a clean, neat, and tidy kitchen floor.

We are active people and have 2 cats. Contrary to popular belief, cats can be just as much of a challenge as dogs sometimes. So there is hair, food crumbs, and the dreaded hairballs. We are tracking in dirt, grass clippings, and snow in winter. Plus there's just that "invisible" dirt that appears through open windows and dust in the air. I had just cleaned the floor the day before the Mop arrived. So I decided to do a test. Our kitchen floor is linoleum and has some little grooves & texture to it. It's always been a challenge to keep those little grooves clean by hand but with a little elbow grease, I'm always able to do the job. Or so I thought. I sanitized one half with the Bissell Steam Mop and the other side was left undone. The difference was night & day. The side that I did with the Bissell was dry & clean. Even from a distance, it looked spotless. The side that I'd done the day before by hand felt almost greasy....it's hard to explain.

Remember: if you use a dehumidifier, you have naturally distilled water that you are pulling from the air. So you won't have to purchase your distilled water if you don't want to. If you choose to purchase, I picked up a gallon at my local Walmart store for $1.67. It will last a long time unless you are using the mop constantly. I would not recommend tap water.

The Bissell Steam Mop is easy to use. All I did was fill it with distilled water and select my setting. Off I went. As suggested in the booklet, I held the mop in place for a quick 8-10 seconds (they say 15 but I went a little less). Back & forth motions across the floor. The pad head pivots and it was easy to get into most corners. For the little grooves I spoke of before, I held the mop in place for a few seconds and then back & forth...those grooves are now spotless. The mop was FILTHY. And I'd just done the floor on my hands & knees the day before!! Unbelievable. To quote someone on a commercial I've seen on TV, I've been living in a fool's paradise.

The cord is pretty long and did my kitchen easily. I also did my 2 bathrooms upstairs with same result. AWESOME.

The pad was easy to clean. Just pull it off, toss it in the washer and dryer. I have not used the other pad yet which has more of a scrubber feel to it. I will not only save wear & tear on my hands & knees but will not have to purchase as many sponges.

I have 2 cons: 1) the fragrance pad was horrible. Some sort of Spring Fresh or something. GAK. I had a headache for the rest of the night...altho it didn't smell as strong the following day. I would much prefer a orangey citrus scent or GAIN, Febreze, or Lysol. 2) I had some difficulty getting the unit behind the toilets in the bathroom. Our house is built in the 1960s and it was a tight fit. Still, most of the floor was very easy and quick to clean.

I am now a believer. If you have allergies, you need one. If you have pets, you need one. If you have children, you need one. In summary, every home needs one.

A great product!

We moved into our new house and have tried numerous mops/scrubbers to clean the tile.  I  bought this steam mop, hoping it would do the job without the chemicals.   It did a fabulous job!!  I used both scrub pads because I had it on high steam, and I was really soaking the high traffic,  worst areas.

Is it possible to love a mop - YES!

Okay so I have light grey vinyl flooring, I also have 2 large dogs and live in a state with red clay (not a good mix, RIP to my floors) red clay has stained my floors so bad, I have tried EVERYTHING. From going to sweeping, then vacuuming, then mopping then wetting jetting my floors. Well I tried a streamer, only used it ONCE, and I can actually see that light grey color back in my floor.

MUST BUY!

i received a used one!! only came with 1 mop pad that was brown with a fishy odor! it got delivered a week ago but i just opened it last night to clean our new home. so disgusting! Now in between the business of moving and unpacking i need to make time to go to Walmart just to return this trash!
