Setting everything back to what I was used to didn't take any longer than 5 min., and it is even easier to do so on the Logitech G Hub application; there is no lag and you can fix reprogramming mistakes with a simple drag and drop. Not only can I set up everything I need for applications from Microsoft Office and Outlook, to Adobe Suite, to the few games I play, the mouse has so many buttons and has really helped with both productivity and gaming. Linking applications to profiles also works extremely well--this is coming from Corsair's iCUE where certain applications wouldn't link properly. The one application I use for work wouldn't link with my mouse profile on iCUE, so I had to set it to Discord. Every time I wanted to use that mouse profile, I would have to switch to Discord first before getting back to work. Although unrelated, both making macros and getting into the detailed bits of those macros was easier on Corsair's iCUE, but I'll try to learn and love Logitech G Hub. After spending so much money on this mouse, I really don't have any choice anyway haha
The mouse itself feels great, has a nice weight, and is very responsive. A very cookie-cutter sort of praise, but it's so true! One small gripe that I have is regarding the mouse's button placement; the side buttons are too far back, and the left and right mouse buttons are too far forward. Because of this, I sort of have to tilt my hand at an angle to comfortably reach all of the buttons, and this took some getting used to. I also had to change the orientation of my mousepad. Even so, clicking the buttons are so satisfying, especially the one that changes the scroll wheel from fast- to precision-scrolling. The Dark Core SE's scroll wheel did its job, but there were times that it would unintentionally activate and mess up my train of thought while writing, or frustratingly change my weapon in the middle of a fight.
Another (also very small and subjective) con is that the scroll wheel sort of shifts about when you move the mouse. Even setting the scroll wheel to precision-mode, you'll feel something moving inside the mouse. If you also have a job where maintaining strict focus on a task is of utmost importance, this may also take some getting used to or changing the way you work--for me, I just don't pick up my mouse anymore. Lastly, there is no pinky-rest, so my pinky brushes around my mousepad whenever I move the mouse around while playing games. Not too big a deal unless work/play on a surface that is more susceptible to light scrapes.
I can't go off of much regarding battery life since I'm still on the first battery, but after reading from others' reviews it seems to be quite long-lasting. Plus, it only needs one AA battery, and it's always good to stock up your home with extra batteries anyway. I used the Dark Core SE for so long that its battery degraded to the point where I needed to plug it in at least once every other day to recharge.
That's about it! Thank you for reading this far, and I hope you all also enjoy your purchase.
So far I only used it in lightspeed mode over the USB receiver, no interference from wifi as I run my network in 5GHz mode, the response time is indistinguishable from wired mice, I used it in games, mainly Assassin’s creed to no impact on performance whatsoever. I didn’t use the extender cable to plug in the receiver as I have it plugged directly into my usb hub.
The weight of the mouse is quite acceptable and only took a half hour of use to get used to as my previous one was lighter, but it posed no problem for me and really that weight is nothing to my hands. The mouse is quite ergonomic and cause no pain or soreness in 4+ hours of daily use.
Battery life is good so far, I’ve used it for 10 days now on lightspeed mode and still going, avg 4-5 hours daily, and the software still shows me a full battery, which brings me to...
Software! G hub is certainly not the most intuitive thing to use, a bit of a learning curve, but I’m taking it easy and exploring it bit by bit, I’ve already changed my dpi levels, I prefer generally higher dpi as my mouse movements are more twitchy than using full elbow movements, and I’ve played with assigning functions to the G keys. The software is not intuitive but by no means a reason to discourage buying this product.
No RGB, fine with it, I’d much rather pay more for functionality than festival lights that would stay hidden under my hand anyway during use.
Build quality is great, the mouse looks and feels premium and solid, the buttons are firm with no wiggle, clicking feels soft and produces low soft sounds, which is to my liking. The scroll wheel is metal which makes it a bit louder than average, though not in a bad or distracting way. The battery and receiver cover is solid and holds tightly to the mouse body when in place with no play whatsoever when using the mouse, the rubber textured middle of the mouse, including thumb rest, feels good on the skin. Buttons do not attract fingerprints which is a huge plus, though the part with the scroll wheel has a glossy finish which is a fingerprint magnet.
In conclusion, this is a great quality product with all the functionality one would want from a mouse for gaming and work with a great deal of customisation without unnecessary bling, the mouse looks sleek and professional and elevates the look of your workspace, the software could use some improvement but not a deterrent. All in all I would definitely recommend buying this, not only because it’s a quality product, but also for the freedom of wireless! I’ll update my review as I use the mouse and discover anything more to outline.
Edit: 1 year 3 months on,
The mouse works as good as ever, still looks new, I've been operating it for the last 6 months with a rechargeable battery. Click sound and feel still the same, no degradation to rubber or plastic, even side button labels are intact. one of the best purchases ever.
One note: use logitech g hub only to dial in your preferred settings, save the profile to the mouse then use it in on-board mode from then, software mode interferes too much in the functionality for my liking and some functions even work better; I had assigned volume up and down to buttons G8 & G9 and it only worked in tiers, as in I had to repeatedly press the button for the volume slider to move, in onboard mode the duration of the press determined the movement of the volume slider, as in it moved as long as I pressed the button, same thing with side scroll.

Now this is its successor, does the G604 live up to the high expectations I have or is it existing in the shadow of the G602?
Short answer : its on par, better on some level, a bit worse in others.
Long answer : I love the mouse, no regret whatsoever, don't get fooled into buying gamy-looking mouses with flashy led. This mouse is beautiful without them.
1- The ergonomic of this mouse is great. Although I have huge hands and preferred the G602 a bit in that regard.
2- The button placement are better. I had issues with the G602 with the two small dpi +/- left of the left click button. Its no longer an issue on the G604. The side buttons don't feel cheap like other brand, I've used a Corsair mouse with 9 side buttons that are just weird, cheap and awkward to press. Its not an issue here.
3- The build quality seems great.
4- Its a bit of a heavy mouse, but thats how I like them.
5- The battery life is incredible, you will forget it need a battery. I have lots of rechargeable battery and after a month I far from needing to change it.
6- There is no lag whatsoever and I can't go back to a wired mouse. I don't understand why many dislike wireless. Wires keep pulling on the mouse making it less precise and I got quite enough wires on my desk, no thank you.
7- The scroll wheel is... I'm on the fence. I don't dislike nor like it. You can switch from no resistance for fast scrolling or add resistance on it, but I feel like its too sensitive without the resistance and not precise enough with the resistance.
SO, the G604 is a must buy in my opinion, Its an incredible mouse that I will hopefully use for years to come. Its not cheap and won't break on you after a few months like a Madcatz mouse. Its doesn't fit my hand as great as the slightly bigger G602 but its definitely not a downgrade. Buy it.
Other then this one issue Great keyboard and mouse just wish I could get one usb port back.
Both are solid built and well designed for button locations and size of device.
