I think most shredders are ac electric, plug in.  They are not battery operated.

How long does the shredder run before recharge is needed?

I chose this paper shredder based on the price and was pleasantly surprised at the quality when it arrived. The other paper shredders in the store were at least $10 more and did not come with a basket. This shredder has a nice sturdy basket that the shredder fits onto securely. The shredder will cut 8 sheets at a time, as advertised, and will also cut credit cards with no issue. I really like the size of the shredder (slightly larger than a sheet of paper) because it's not a mini desktop, but also not big and bulky either. I think it is the perfect size at a perfect price.

This is a great product. It works very well when shredding multiple papers. It can shred up to 8 pieces of paper at once. Even when the device is turned off, it clicks into an off position for safety reasons when removed from the garbage.  That is a great feature that more devices should have. The garbage that comes with it is good sized

Just because the price of this shredder is not as expensive as others, should not prevent anyone from thinking that it is not as good. I bought this for home use, and it definitely does the job!  :)

I've been like a kid in a candy store.  Shredding everything in sight!  No problems so far and I literally had a 33 gallon hefty trash bag full after my first use.  Word of Advice: put a grocery bag inside the bin, otherwise you'll end up with shredded papers everywhere.

Great home operation shredder. This will shred return address stickers really well if you feed them in upside down. Less clogging up that way .

Bigger pieces of paper than i thought

I had a shredder for 10 years that worked with no problems. When it died, I decided to replace it with this same thing. Got this today. Although it doesn't say in the description, the box was marked that it was refurbished. I plan to keep it, but it should have been in the description as it may make a difference to some one. Also this is substantially noisier than my previous one.

had to use the reverse switch and sometimes a added a paper to the 
left side and it activated the unit to go on

This shredder is terrible. It's not worth even the $20 I spent on it, nevermind paying full price. It claims you can shred 8 pages at once but it has jammed several times with as few as 4 pages. It also overheats in a very short amount of time. As I write this, I'm waiting for it to recover from both a jam and an overheat after attempting to shred 3 pages. Spend a bit more for something that actually works.
