long commutes to work, wash clothes, clean the house, you name it. Being able to continue my heat therapy with moving is a game changer for me. I almost want to cursed out my physical therapist for not recommending something like thus instead of the many brands that I was told buy over the years. Couldnt be happier. Going to buy a second one to keep at work just in case. FYI- Make sure charge it for atleast 6-8. On first use I charged it til the green indicator showed charged (About 1 -2 hours) After one session, I had to charge it again. The higher the heat setting inceases the frequency that you will need to charge it. Obvious, I know. LOL
It's adjustable and the idea of being able to use it on the go is great. On paper, this is a home run.
In practice?
First thing out of the way, the description in the Amazon listing says it can be used with the included battery pack or can be plugged in to use instead of using the battery pack. The actual quote from the description is clear on this "... pad can also be plugged into a wall outlet".
The problem is, that's a lie. When you get it, what arrives is the pad itself with a "male" plug that goes into the bottom of the battery pack, the battery pack and another "male" plug that goes into the top of the battery pack which plugs into the wall from the other end.
The instructions that come with it make absolutely no mention of using it plugged in and there is no way to plug that wall plug directly into the pad.
The first thing the instructions say is to charge it fully (3 hours) before first use. So if you got this because, you know, you actually needed it, be prepared to wait.
Once it's charged, they claim two hours of usage on the medium setting and four on low. They make no mention of how long it lasts on high which seemed okay when I thought it could be used plugged in but since it can't be, I assume that usage must be awful, especially since on low, it only lasted me about three hours on my first use after letting it fully charge for three+ hours.
So three hours to charge for three hours of usage on the lowest setting... followed by three hours to charge before it can be used again.
After that first full charge, I tried using it while recharging and guess what? While the battery pack is plugged in, it won't turn on.
I guess that's why the power cord is so short.
As a first aid sort of thing where you will keep this fully charged at all times for when you might need it for a single short period, it might be okay but that's not how it's marketed.
Seems the only solution is to buy additional batteries to charge while in use. The batteries are listed at $39.99 each. The manual also makes mention of an optional fast charger (sold separately) that will cut the charging time to an hour and fifteen minutes but I was unable to find that for sale.
So all of this means you have a battery powered heating pad that can only be used by battery and which takes a minimum of three hours to charge before it can be used.
Got it, tried it for one cycle, and it's already going back.
The good news is the same company offers a better product for half the price:

That one is USB powered. It can be plugged into almost anything to work, including a USB power bank (like one you may already own for a phone) and it has the pocket for it, just like this one. This means you can power it from the wall with a power adapter (not included), or from any USB port in a computer, car, airport terminal arm rest, or USB power pack of your own choosing.
I ordered it for same day delivery after trying this one and am already thrilled with it.
The dimensions are a bit smaller (it's not as wide) and the actually heating element doesn't seem to go as far around but the material seems to disperse the heat around. Holding them up to each other (see picture I uploaded for comparison), it's not as dramatic as the dimensions may suggest and as long as you position it well, it seems to work just as well.
I thought getting this one would be better because it came with the battery pack and looked to be a good deal larger.
For twice the price, it ended up being a way worse product.
If you're actually in pain and looking for some immediate relief, steer clear of this product. Get their other (apparently newer) one or one of the other alternatives.
