Not a big deal because compared to the ToGuard Dashcam, which did have the softer image yet blurred and discolored around the outer edges of the video, I can deal with a sharper image and picture quality that looks exactly like what is being recorded. As with the ToGuard Dashcam, headlights and light fixtures appear much brighter than what they actually are making objects near them difficult to see despite the exposure video settings allowing the picture to be adjusted which was either too bright or too dark.
Roav Dashcam A1 Pros and Cons:
Pros:
+Nice picture quality. Can read license plates during the day...
+ Sturdy construction. Does not feel like a cheap plastic toy.
+Ventilation. Keeps dashcam cool. Same cams get a bit warm as soon as activated.
+Anti-Vibration. With car radio blaring and driving on bumpy roads, while watching the recorded video, the images in the video had zero shaking. It was as though I was not listening to the radio and driving on smooth roads. A definite plus because I don't want to record something of importance only to find out the video is shaky, blurred and out of focus.
+Wifi Pairing. Now I can gain access to video files via my smartphone and not have to remove the SD card and connect it to my PC. Definitely a great selling point.
+LCD Screen. Some Dashcams like Hyperion have wifi smartphone pairing capability but no LCD screen. With Roav, I can still operate the dashcam via the LCD screen, say something bad happens to my smartphone or I leave it at home.
+Excellent Microphone + Audio Recording. Voices and surrounding sounds recorded inside or outside of the vehicle are clearly audible. No popping or scratchy sounds during playback.
+Great price. People believe a quality dashcam comes at a great price but for those budget minded people like me, you can own a quality dashcam like the Roav A1 that will not put a strain on your pocket book.
Cons: Picture can be a bit too sharp at times. Video post processing enhancements such as soft blending or deinterlacing would have been nice.
I would definitely recommend the Roav Dashcam A1.
