Great budget Smart TV

I got this TV on Prime Day as a replacement for a non-smart TV. This is my first Alexa enabled purchase and I'm quite satisfied with it as I am used to Google home products. Goodbye to my Chromecast (but you can still use it with this TV if you're not ready to part with it).

Picture quality is pretty crisp with good contrast and sharpness out of the box. The default picture settings can dull the color and sharpness a little bit, but a little manual adjustments easily works around this.

For a TV of this size and weight (incredibly thin and light), the sound is pretty substantial. Pretty good bass without being too distorted and respectable treble without sounding too tinny. Surround sound capability is sufficient, you cannot expect to have a full movie theater quality without a whole home theater set up or sound bar combo.

The apps are abundant for my needs. You can integrate Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, and Disney+ and you can add more video apps to your needs. As for music, I have Spotify, SiriusXM, Amazon Music installed with more popular music apps available.

Alexa is surprisingly capable (as I am coming from the Google side of things) and seems to follow commands so far. It is really convenient that you can use the voice search instead of typing out everything. I am also surprised that you use the remote itself as voice input, which I thought was a cool capability.

Set up was very easy, it came with clear instructions and at first boot up, the TV will give you step by step instructions for set up and updating the TV software.

Overall, I am quite pleased with this purchase and I highly recommend it. It's not going to give you a whole movie theater, but it is very capable nevertheless!

Clear Picture, Good Sound, Great Buy

I bought this TV for my son to replace a very clear, but hot Samsung plasma TV. The plasma TV was heating his room up, making it very uncomfortable. I got this Toshiba at a very good price on Prime Day. For the price, I thought I might get something that had a washed-out picture, but with all the good reviews, I decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did. This has a beautiful picture. The sound is pair, to good, about as good as the plasma TV. But, as you may or may not know, plasma TVs were known for their very lovely picture. When everything switched to LED, it could be a hit or miss with the picture quality. This picture certainly looks as good, if not better, than the plasma TV. This is a very solid buy.

Great tv, defective remote, horrible customer service

Bought my tv through Best Buy on Amazon during a prime day sale in June. In 3 months I’ve replaced the battery at least 3 times and within a few days of fresh batteries the tv will have a notification that the remote batteries are critically low. After having the remote die a third time with fresh batteries I decided to reach out to customer support to see if I could get a replacement remote. I was told that I was past my 1 yr warranty (even though they confirmed I bought this tv in June) and no replacement would be provided. They didn’t even tell me how to buy one until I responded asking how it was possible for a 1 yr warranty to expire in 3 months. I got another response that didn’t even address the warranty issue but provided a link for me to buy a new remote. The remote app works intermittently at best. The tv works great. Clear picture and works with all my preferred viewing apps. Just wish the remote wasn’t defective and the customer service was better.

This is a Fire TV, and like all Fire devices it has an exceptionally long boot up time. If you plan on using Apple TV, Roku, or even a standard cable box, it can take 45 seconds or more to get to the the home screen to switch to one of the HDMI inputs. The system does not remember that an HDMI input was last used, so you go through this process every time you power up the TV.

That's all the criticism I have. It's an otherwise excellent value. It's got an amazing picture for the money, and the Fire TV app selection is quite good. I recommend this product for those with some patience for a boot up process that seems unnecessarily long for 2021.
