This is a very high quality technical camera, very well built. To get the most out of this camera use high voltage batteries and top quality SD cards. I used both San Disk and Sony 8GB SD cards, testing two identical cameras in house aimed at the same target area. San Disk was a class 4 while the Sony was a class 10. The class 4 card took several less 30 second videos. Each camera was set for 30 second video with a one minute delay. Taking pictures outside if set for multiple pictures, the first day time picture is very bright and clear, followed by the second which is much darker. After the delay, the next picture sequence repeats the first. To over come this problem, set the picture for single. There is no software up date for this camera. The battery tray is hard to open but if one presses on the release button near the bottom close to the battery tray this makes it easier to open. Sometimes the battery tray will not latch properly when closing. A sharp tap on the bottom corrects this. Both of these problems have been corrected in the newer series BTC 5HD. The camera is advertised in the manual and with my contact with Browning to work with either Alkaline or Lithium batteries. I have two of this series and 4 of the BTC 5HD series and none of the six cameras will power up properly using the Lithium battery. When turning the camera on, the set up screen should light up green. This does not happen and if left in this position, it will quickly discharge the batteries. Cameras were tested using numerous brands of Alkaline batteries and also rechargeable batteries, which gave no power up problem. Lithium batteries are very picky who they work with.Read full review

Opened the trail cam to get it set up as my other one finally had lived its life. As I did the basic inspection of it and made sure everything was functional before I put it out on the trail, I found that the battery box would not stay shut and kept sliding out of the back of the camera. I own 5 or 6 trail cams and they have all lasted a few seasons. Some get damaged from the weather (falling limbs and such) or because they just simply stopped working, but I have never had one that didn't function the day I opened it. I would have added photos but I have already resealed the package for return...now lets see who has to pay the return shipping for a non-functioning item.

Great camera for sure with very crisp images and a fast trigger. I would have given 5 stars if not for two issues. 1- The SD card is inserted backwards and to remove it is next to impossible with your plain fingers. In the cold of NY where I hunt it took me almost ten minutes to remove because nothing to grip onto and the card does not eject far enough to grab firmly. I had to bring a piece of duct tape to stick to it in order to pull it out. 2- At night even if you set the video lengh to 30 seconds the camera will revert back to 10 second video as some sort of power safe mode...no way to over ride that , so in dim or dark lighting you will be stuck with 10 second videos

This is a very good ( though not excellent) game camera. The reaction time (trigger speed) is not great but is adequate. the new models have almost cut that speed in half and that would be excellent. Will probably buy one later. For the money, can't be beat.

With the right SD card the camera works very well. I set it up at my house and part of the image covers the street. Vehicles on the street trigger the camera at a distance of 250 feet, both in day light and in the dark. The camera must have a compatible SD card. With an apparently imcompatable SD there were 1200 triggers and 45 images. With that kind of sensivity, there are some apparently false triggers, but SD space is cheap.
