I needed a fence built and knew I'd need one of these in the future. I saw the one or two bad reviews and purchased anyway. I'm glad I did. This machine may not be commercial grade, but the engine looks like good quality, it cranked easy and runs well. Nothing was loose or needing adjustment. It uses one of the most affordable carburetors on the market, so when it is set up from ethanol and age and needs a rebuild, I can just swap it for less than $10. Make sure you mix your oil and fuel correctly this is important on any 2 stroke. The resale value of these tools is pretty good if you market it correctly. I should be able to re-sell for a $150- $200 locally. That makes it more economical than renting. I can always use it on a couple quick side jobs and make a little money. Quick tip: don't try to power through big rocks or anything that is catching the auger while digging. If it twists it in your hands pretty strongly, it may be too big to push through. Keep a manual post hole digger, pick, or narrow shovel handy to remove some of the rocks that stop the blade. When there are no rocks, it cuts through the ground so smoothly. Overall a good value for a RESEDENTIAL level post hole digger, I hope it works as well for you as it did for me.Read full review

I purchased this machine so I could plant fifteen trees . The soil here is very rocky and this auger went through the dirt and rock with no problem at all with the 10 inch bit . can't wait to use it for more trees or fence post or anything .
