The RTi12 speakers are essentially, an original model of the newer RTIA9's (I bought the A9's first). I own both, so getting the RTi12's for have of what I paid for the A9's was a bargain, imo. The speakers have excellent specs, and most importantly, they sound great! Speaker quality/excellence is a very arguable point. However, I can tell you that these speakers, though an older model, are an excellent value...and will perform against many "esoteric" speakers at 3x the price.
These tower speakers are awesome, even though they have been replaced for newer models, they are awesome for the cost they can be found by now, I got them for 200 a pair, so that's why I rate them 5 star for value-qualty. In performance they are more than enough to fill any large room, the highs are smooth non fatiguing, mids and voices dimensional and defined with zero distortion, the lows really go deep, easily fill the full spectrum 20-20,000hz. They can be enjoyed with a reciver with 100-150 watts, but I highly recommend bi amp them with at least 300 watts, specifically on the low end.

I am very pleased with these speakers. I am used to a large, lush and warm orchestral sound from my Carver Amazing Speakers. I still have a large sound with the RTI 12's, but with more attack and urgency. From Beethoven to Basie, Takanawa to Vaughn, OUTSTANDING! However; these speakers require lots of quality power to sing. Regarding HT, I find a subwoofer redundant.
Sounds awesome. Only reason not a five is I can't afford a five

These speakers are awesome and the bass is deep. I would certainly recommend this to anyone without any reservation.
