I have went through all the expensive $120 - $250 gaming keyboards and each one was a royal pain in the backside, from the Cloud software to operate the macro, to clicky-ness, etc etc. This SteelSeries is straightforward, plug and play, download the software and you're off! The keys are illuminated very nicely, hundreds of colors to chose from, setting up colors for different functions easy, connecting to music player simple, many keys to bind to, simply this keyboard offers a great deal. I only needed my keyboard to do very simple macros to prevent me from having to click and press the same keys / mouse repetitively and it does well however, it does much much more and here is where SteelSeries lost a star from me; they don't have any form of users manual of HOW to use the software despite saying they do. The links are dead. Highly recommend to any gamer vet or newbie. Easy to use! (unless you want to do complex things, not a brain because there isn't a users manual).Read full review

1) not a mech keyboard 2) the keycaps are flat and it is hard to get used to, since the gap between the keys is small, making it hard to feel each key 3) overall the software is ok, you can make any key to behave as you want and you can record macros which is great for any app 4) the colors settings are per area and NOT per key

I have only used mechanical keyboards so this is weird feeling to me. The keys are close together and there is a slight delay on the "backspace" key when compared to the mechanical keyboards I normally use that are instant when you press the key. The keys are QUIET on this keyboard. Its kind of like typing on a laptop and it feels slightly cramped. Those are my not negative, negatives lol. Illumination is perfect. Very visible in light and dark rooms. It is a wide keyboard. The tall feet give it just enough angle to be comfortable. The large spacebar is only visually large, it actually allows my thumbs to relax a little because I don't have to bring them closer to the C,V and N,M keys while I type. It's a different feeling keyboard but I knew it would be. Overall it is awesome. I am glad I bought it and have no regrets. It looks expensive and symmetrical. Performed well in several FPS games I played. It also matches my Rival 700 mouse very well.Read full review

Best keyboard I've owned. I'm a pc gamer and this has a nice feel and responsiveness even though it's not a mechanical keyboard. The leds are really customizable which makes it fun and interesting. Solid keyboard with plenty of customizable macros as well. Great for gaming.

first off, if u hate non mechanical keyboards then dont read this or buy this. cause you people complain to much. this keyboard is awsome. took me a little bit to get use to the key layout as they feel fairly close together and i was worried about that big stupid space bar but the truth is once u get use to it all ( a few hours) you dont even think twice about it. the soft ware was good and easy to use. i set up my macro keys fairly fast and its nice to be able to change any key on the keyboard. example: i never use caps lock and when i game i tend always hit it on accident then go to my browser after wards and i will be typing in caps. so i made the caps button another left shift key. and move my caps to the macro key about the f1 key. best part of this is the price. 50$ and its as good has a 150$ keyboard. why? cause its a non mechanical keyboard and people are willing to pay a lot for some that they think "feels" better. there just buttons. im not picky on thats. its quiet strong and has macro keys. what else do u need? oh and that colors are cool as well.Read full review
