The Sony Xperia Z was one of the first smartphones to sport a display size larger than 6-inches. Although it is getting a bit old compared with the latest phones it still has respectable performance compared with many large-screen offerings in early 2016. Particular strengths include the thin profile of the phone and high-density display. Downsides include a very poor battery capacity; large phones need a larger battery capable of keeping the phone charged for average multimedia use throughout the day. This phone will require a top-up during the day.

The One&Only Pro;Beautiful screen Cons;just pick it up only slightly the way it doesn't like and the screen shatters--that's what happened to mine-literally I picked it up without any undue distress to this thing, the screen ended up as a spider's web. I only had it for 5days. Ton's of bloat wares. Adds flying in from origins unknown. Very flexible body. Volume of everything is sooooo low and I never could figure out how to make it louder(I know more than enough about volume control, you know). There is no way you can hear speaker phone if you are driving, not to mention the phone ring. Timer? Alarm? Forget it!! Battery life is very short and takes long time to recharge. Oh, after it shattered, I couldn't even turn this off. You just see the light show of screen flashes until battery dies. Sony site is of no help. Turned out to be a total waste of money. Live and learn, in a sense. Oh, well. I wish eBay had Negative stars.Read full review

Actually, I'm iPhone user. But time has changed and I would like to use big screen and also, my iPhone 4 is too slow with new iOS. So, I was thinking new phone with a little big screen. I don't like too big but a little. At first I saw Xperia Z. But Z1 is much butter. So, I bought this phone. Yes, this Z1 won't let me down. I like this Z1 very much. Z1 look like luxury. I didn't see any different with iPhone. But Z1 is water proof. I like this. Ok! let's talk about I don't like. Sim tray is not good enough for me. I would like to have more decent. Also, I just used for At&t and LTE signal is not every where. Most of them I just got H or H+. (My phone is C6903. So, LTE) One more thing is very hard to find good case. Yes, very hard to find. Some of cases are really good but not hold for magnetic charging. some cases are good but they did the hold for sim tray, micro sd tray, and also power button, volume controls and camera button. We don't need that hold. We need the hold for magnetic charging and usb cabel. That all. So, just used phone alone. That phone is really good for me.Read full review
They just don't make them like this anymore. It's a crying shame that Sony didn't make an updated 2016 version of this fantastic and groundbreaking 2013 release. Do you know of any other Samsung or HTC from 2013 that can still hold up as well 3 years later? This is not only still king of the hill in size, but also in quality, thinness, and innovation. At 6.5mm thin, it is still one of the thinnest. I've tried everything, the new Xperia Z1s, Z3, Z5, Z5 Premium, the 10 in. Z Tablet, Z2 Tablet, and the 8 in. Z3 Compact tablet. They all send me running back to the Z ultra despite it's 3 years old. The Z Ultra just has the perfect blend of size, thinness, that can't be matched. The regular Xperia Zs are a tad too small even at 5.2 inches, despite the 5.5 inches 4K screen with the Z5 Premium. The 8 in. Z3 tablet compact was a nice thought, even for someone that isn't afraid of "large" screens and size. It was just a tad too big, and the usability was just not as nice as the Z ultra. Sony really should think about reviving this wonderfully near perfect concept a build a flagship around it's size Read full review

The Sony Xperia Z is a beautifully designed phone with modern styling and user friendly button operations. The android OS is as you would expect and offers a large selection of apps and options. The exterior of the phone has a glossy finish and the screen is protected by a factory installed screen protector. The battery life was an issue and it seemed to run out quickly despite my efforts to turn off most items. Also the battery is not removable so that is an issue. My biggest gripe is the durability. I literally partially sat on the phone for 2 minutes and it cracked in half unlike any phone I have ever seen. The vertebrate of the sony xperia Z is extremely fragile and I no longer have this phone after only 5 weeks of use. Again, its a beautiful phone with some major flaws.
