It's not the type of safe you would use for expensive items - more of things like your government paperwork, Social Security Number, etc. For those things, it would be best to buy a filing cabinet if you have a business and the safe won't be used by your customers - that way you can organize your paperwork. It would be great for putting it in hotel rooms but it doesn't have a feature to notify a hotel system that the safe has been used or opened. Now, for expensive items, I would strongly recommend purchasing a safe that is way more than 2-4mm in thickness. It takes about literally 4-5 seconds from pressing the first button to swinging the door open. Because of that, I wouldn't recommend this safe for storing guns for the purpose of getting the gun in a moments notice.
