Billed as a combination Smoke and CO2 detector though packaging and instructions do not refrence the smoke detector aspect which leaves me to wonder if it is also a smoke detector???? Very important aspect when it comes to your appraiser. Takes 3xAAA batteries. Bright blue LED function with old timey alarm sound. Batteries not included. Installed as easy as any other detector. Still a good product for the price. The only reason I'm giving it 3 starts is because of the smoke detection question. I haven't asked yet but I'm doing that next. UPDATE: Lit paper and blew it out waving smoke in front of detector. YES it did set it off.

Ok so the title says BATTERY OPERATED, but guess what? It’s doesn’t come with batteries , Read the full description before buying I found this description to be confusing because at the beginning it says what type of batteries it takes but all the way at the end It only says alarm manual and something else but it should say batteries not included...

Easy to Install. The 85 decibels seem a little lower than 85. however if the alarm is in the same room with you I'm sure it will wake you up. The flashing green light bothered me when I was trying to go to sleep so I put a small piece of black electrical tape over the green light. That helped a lot.

Carbon Monoxide detectors
The First alert brand has an excellent reputation for these units. I first find out what makes and models have the highest ratings and then find the best deals online. Since this model uses a direct plug in outlet, I do not have to worry about any batteries. Even if the power goes off, so does everything else shut down such as the oil burner, all electrical appliances or anything that can cause a fire. It fills my needs for a system that offers good protection at a very reasonable cost.
