I bought the organizer that Target had on clearance for 25cents(dollar spot item).

I'm just getting back in to couponing.

I had always used the accordian style with pockets but it got so bulky that I couldn't close it. I now use a binder with clear photo sheets and pockets that are 4 x 6. There are 3 pockets per page and I label each pocket. The binder has a zipper closure all the way around. I was lucky to find the binder on clearance at Staples for .50 and they carry the photo pages too. This works great because I can divide or lump my coupons for easy use. This system has saved me so much time in the stores it's incredible. However, it did take me hours to set it up but so worth it.

I'm new to the coupon organizer ideas that you all listed. I really like the binder with clear pages in them idea. Any more suggestions on that would be really appreciated.

I use a pencil box, paper clip the different catagories together (frozen, dairy, canned, etc.) then I have 2 rubberbands on the lid so I can pull out ones I am gonna use and that are gonna expire soon. Then to divide the ones being used and ones not used is my shopping list.

Well, my method has changed a little since I posted this. I now use a binder with 2 rings inside. One side is for food items, the other non-food. I also have tabs (think file folder tabs, the colored ones) that seperate by frozen, canned, dairy, etc. It is working great for me. I am cleaning it out right now, maybe I can take a pic while it's empty so you can actually see what it is without being so cluttered, lol.

I have so many coupons but I hardly use them becoz i can never find them or are never with me when i shop.
Need to buy a coupon organizer.
I have seen the ones at dollar store or at walmert, they do not have enough slots i feel.

I use a 4x6 cheapie plastic photo album. It has about 24 slots, I can see everything just by flipping through. I keep it in my bag so I don't have to remember to bring them with me when I shop. Its been serving me well.

I just use an organizer that is actually meant for checks. Like most organizers it has 13 pockets but is about 10" wide. I label these with the major categories like health & beauty, household, etc. Then I use regular size envelopes to subdivide the ones that tend to cover too much territory like household. I have envelopes for laundry products, general cleaning products, air fresheners & candles, paper goods, dish detergents. I use the return envelopes that come with bills as I pay mine online and from whatever junk mail contains one. It expands quite a bit because it closes with an elastic band like a covered hair band.

I bought a little storage container from Target for $2.49 and put my coupons in different envelopes alphabetized by category. It's worked great for me so far.

Here's my ?? for those of you with binders or containers:

Do you carry that every day in every store that you go in to? Even if you're running into the hardware store for 1 thing? Every little shopping trip? What about if you're on your way home from somewhere and decide to stop and run into the grocery store to pick up something for dinner?

I'm asking because if I had my coupons in one of those I would only bring it on big trips to the grocery store and I'd lose out on using a lot of coupons. I have mine in 2 makeup bags in my purse, 1 for groceries and the other for non-groceries (and they're separated by category in each bag) and I leave them in my purse all the time and always have them with me. So when I run into somewhere for 1 or 2 things and see something on clearance or sale I can quickly check my coupons.

I always leave my binder in my suburban so if I do make a nonplaned stop I have it right there. Now keeping it organized is another thing but I seem to always know what coupons I have.

In my situation my husband does the grocery shopping. He is retired. I make him a list and attach all the coupons he will need. Now I still make stops at certain places like Walgreens or CVS. He is funny if they tell him a coupon doesn't work, he tells them, "oh my wife will be mad, you better make sure" hee hee.

I keep my coupons separate. I have one binder just for personal care items and drugs. That way if I make a run into a drug store or Target, I don't have to take all my coupons with me. I actually use a small photo album which works out great!

I admit, I don't take my container everywhere. I try to have it in the car with me all the time, and if I'm going into a store, it goes with me. Yesterday I had an unplanned trip the grocery store after being out with the fam, so I didn't have my coupons with me in the car, and I was kicking myself because I missed out on a deal. I'm going to start bringing it everywhere I go in the future. OK, I'm going to try, anyway.

It has many different categories and it also has a notepad in the back. If I get store specific coupons, I usually paper clip them in the front cover. Seems to work for me. I have enjoyed reading how everyone trys to stay organized with their coupons. Lots of good ideas!

Maybe you could try the 24 pg small photo books that fit in a purse...would only be a little more organized that what you currently use and must be the same size. My box is the size of a large shoe box and it's stuffed so that wouldn't work for me. Even having it in the car all the time, I don't always lug it into the store so only if I really really want a deal, do I leave and go get coupons out of it to use. (Now, not talking groceries here, I can't remember any day I did grocery shopping w.o. coupons)

I use an 8 1/2" x 11" plastic accordion file folder with 12 compartments for my coupons. In it I have divided my coupons into categories with envelopes in each compartment for subcategories. I like this method because I prefer to have all of my coupons clipped when I head out to shop. I keep my binder in the car and take it into any store where I think I might be able to use a coupon.
