I am writing to everyone I know and doing my best to inform the public about the unscrupulous practices of buy.com. I purchased a TV from buy.com after a lot of research on the quality and pricing of various TV's. I have found that the TV I purchase is absolutely wonderful. the problem came when I tried to buy a warranty for it. I purchased a 5 year warranty and thought that the warranty information would arrive in the mail. It never did. When I contacted buy.com they told me to download it from a link they sent. The link doesn't take you anywhere or allow you to download. The warranty is not downloadable or mail-able to anyone. I tried calling several times and each time they told me that they cannot mail or give out the warranty (4 times to date since March 2008). so I spent another 300 bucks for nothing. I have since called my credit card company to block their billings and I'm challenging buy.com for products not received. I hope that you choose very wisely before making large purchases from Buy.com as in my case, they did not honor their end of the deal. Was this review helpful?

I received the Samsung LCD last Friday (1/4/08) as promised. Once I had the LCD up and running, I found that the LCD was an excellent choice for my home. Setup was easy and when completed, I found that I had made the right selection for Home Entertainment. The picture is vibrant an is excellent in ALL lighting conditions. This 52" Samsung 71F series TV is fantastic. The colors are extremely vivid and the settings on the TV are very user friendly. There are no buttons on the TV. All of the switches on the TV (such as the on/off switch) are all touch sensitive and truly make this a sweet TV. These switches are not located on the glossy black area and will not leave smudges. The TV is easily wall mounted and has enough A/V inputs to satisfy most consumers. The TV screen has a glossy look to it which is similar to many of today's laptops. This however is not a problem even in my room which has 4 large windows to the sides of the TV. There is no glare or reflection that will distort the picture. The major issue currently (as of November 2007) is that Samsung needs to release a firmware update for this TV. Very fast moving objects such as a thrown football or hockeypuck appear to have multiple images. This has been termed triple ball effect and is minimized by adjusting some settings on the TV. Nevertheless, a firmware update should still be released as adjusting the settings is not a "fix" for this problem. Was this review helpful?
