I use this for transferring files, also for carrying portable applications - works fine for these purposes. This is my second 8GB flash drive; the cost was less than the 4GB I purchased last year. It did take 3 weeks from the time I ordered until it was delivered, but it was over the holidays, so I'm not surprised. Plus, free shipping at the time, so I can't complain! I have four Kingston Flash Drives. 1GB, Two 2GB,and a 4GB that are over two years old and still working great. My two new 8 GB, just purchased, have checked out fine. From purchase, using XP, the entire capacity is recognized, but I can only use half the capacity. No matter what I try, it will only write 4GB to this drive. I've tried one large file, several small files, several types of files... doesn't matter - only 4GB is usable. Will be contacting Kingston for a replacement.
Less than 2 weeks after I bought this, the 16GB drives were the same price. Just found a 16GB drive for $20 including shipping (less than I paid for the 8GB model). Was this review helpful?
