The ultra-versatile PIXMA MP830 Office All-In-One delivers spectacular performance for the home and small office. It produces an amazing print resolution of up to 9600 x 2400 color dpi, for superb detail and clarity. To achieve this, Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) uses a next-generation 3,584-nozzle print head that ejects precise, consistent droplets as small as 1 picoliter, for smooth, virtually grain-free images. Our ContrastPLUS 5-color ink system- four dye based inks and a pigment-based black ink- produces true-life photos along with laser-quality text. Plus, a 4" x 6" photo lab quality borderless print takes only about 36 seconds.

With the large 2.5" LCD color viewer and easy control panel, you can evaluate and enhance images from your compatible memory card before printing! Or, you can print directly from your PictBridge ready digital camera or DV camcorder. With direct printing, you don't need a computer.

This high-end office All-In-One does it all. The auto duplex Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) can read both sides of a 2 sided document, letting you copy or scan a 2 sided original without having to flip it over by hand! The ADF can hold 35 pages of originals at one time, making it much easier to copy, scan or fax multi-page documents. And when combined with the unit's dual paper trays, the ADF gives you the capability for high-capacity copying, even of 2-sided originals. The AE (Auto Exposure) Copy feature automatically optimizes reproduction quality based on the type of original you're duplicating. When scanning, the unit's high-resolution CCD technology enables you to produce exceptional 2400-dpi scans, with vibrant 48-bit color depth. And now, faxing: With the PIXMA MP830 Office All-In-One, you can achieve up to Super G3 fax speed in color and B&W. Plus, the expanded memory lets you store 100 speed dial codes, and receive up to 250 incoming pages.

3 of 5 A little more technology than I needed Wednesday, October 01, 2008
A Customer from Emerson, NJ

I wanted a copier/fax and the reviews and price of this Canon seemed to fit what I wanted. However, it comes with a 217 page manual! After two hours I discovered this manual covers features that I do not plan to use (heavy on photo printing). I also had problems hooking up the fax option (took hours and call to my telephone provider). Overall, the machine delivers copies, scans, and prints from my PC to my satisfaction.

5 of 5 Duplex Scanning Monday, September 29, 2008
A Customer from Wayne, NJ
I bought this to replace a HP all in one. The print speed and quality are excellent but my main reason for buying was the duplex scanner. I had considered buying a stand alone scanner but for the price I figured this was worth a try. So far I am very satisfied. Scanning speed is good and two-sided scanning works well.

5 of 5 BEST ALL-IN-ONE I'VE HAD Wednesday, September 24, 2008
Doug from Oxford, OH
This printer does what you want when you want, and is inexpensive to operate. It has a replaceable print head which is nice- when you think your printer is dead, you can replace the head and it's like new. It does double sided copies and faxes with document feeder or scanner platen. It has a bottom loading paper cartridge and a rear feed (with a quick, easy switch)so you can keep checks in one and plain paper in the other. The quality is very good for what I do, photos could be a little better if I messed around with the settings. I have burned through several HP's and Epsons and I like this one best. I have 2 home printers and 6 business printers and I now have 4 MP830's (where all-in-ones are needed)and the rest will be replaced with Canons that take the same ink cartridge but don't need the other functions. My observations of two big brands: -HP: Very reliable, but expensive ink. Ink cartridges each essentially have a built in print head. Every time you change a cartridge you get fresh, new-printer quality. BUT, at a cost, the cartridges are very expensive, and many of their models combine all 3 colors of ink into one cartridge, which adds even more cost - here's how: I do landscape designs which take large amounts of yellow and cyan ink (lots of green graphics). When one of those colors runs out, I have to throw away the whole cartridge which is usually still nearly full of magenta. The Canon has 5 (FIVE) ink tanks: 3 colors, a black for graphics and a hi-capacity black for text. I only pay for the ink that I use. Epson: Fast, inexpensive printers and ink, individual color tanks. BUT: print head is built in to the printer, and it doesn't last long. I consider Epsons to be disposable. They also bug me because you can hit the cancel button to stop printing, and they just keep going, sometimes 3-4 more pages. If you stop it in control panel or turn off the printer, it will continue where it left off when you turn it back on, ANNOYING! Hopefully the MP830 stays on the market for a while because it is a really nice printer.

5 of 5 Great Price, Great Service Sunday, September 21, 2008
Frank from Port Huron, Michigan
Bought this multifunction two weeks ago and am very happy with the performance and the price. Upgraded from another Canon printer that has been an outstanding piece of equipment (love the seperate ink carts for economy). Was easy to set up on my XP machine and the print speed is fantastic. Scanner is easy to use and copy function is very handy for business and home use. Photo print quality is VERY nice even though I don't use it that much because of ink expense. Haven't had the need to use FAX yet but don't expect any problem if I do. Overall, I would say Buy This Machine! Product and delivery time (3 days from placing order until it was at my door) are Excellent. I have bought from Buy.Com before and will again. Customer service is top-notch and the price is right.

4 of 5 Works well... 1 problem Wednesday, September 17, 2008
ferrum.mihi from Sacramento, CA
The printer works very well.It prints clean, crisp images and produces similar quality images from scanning. The autofeed is grand, and for a non-commercial copier/scanner holds a good stack of paper and produces quality documents. The software that comes with it, as per usual, is in need of sprucing up and has a very windows 95 or windows 98 feel to it. The feature of sending an image directly to email has produced uselessly small images that auto attach to my email and I have not yet found the setting to change this. It is a superfluous feature considering you can just scan the image and then attach it yourself, but if you are looking for quality programming to come with the printer, you may not want to get your hopes up too high.

5 of 5 Great Printer for the Price Thursday, August 28, 2008
Derin from SLC UT
I have had Canon printers before and I have absolutely loved them. My last printer was a multi-pass F50 and was a great work horse. When deciding to upgrade, I looked at HP, Lexmark, and Canon. For home use and printing pictures this printer seemed to have just a little better resolution than the competition. The set up was easy, and I am very happy with it. I have a really nice camera to go along with it. I have the Canon Rebel XT. When printing pictures on this new printer you really get your money's worth. The pictures look just as good as if you took them to Walmart and had them printed. I would recommend this printer for anyone looking for a nice home use all in one printer wanting to do some occasional home printing of pictures. Thanks Canon for yet another great product!

5 of 5 Easy to use, deceptively inexpensive Saturday, July 26, 2008
Dave from Marietta, GA
The initial print cartridges did not seem to last long. But the replacements (OEM from Canon) lasted much longer. I was at first surprised because Consumer Reports magazine rates this as an "inexpensive to use" ink jet printer. The functionality is superb; faxes, scanner, copies, printing. The only fault I found was the constant iritatting warning of "low ink levels" - you really don't know when they will run out, and when they do the printer will just stop until you replace that ink cartridge.
