3 of 5 Dashed High Hopes Monday, August 11, 2008 Dude from Boston, MA
The only DVI video dock w/audio, but accompanying software doesn't load properly on WXPSP2. Other reviews severely criticized Targus tech support so I didn't bother calling into yet another group of offshore TSRs who aren't properly trained. Intelimouse can't be programmed to work as designed (browsing buttons are reversed with no way of fixing that); software had to be uninstalled 2x to get the high resolution screen sizes to show up. Sloppy for such an expensive dock. Still, it's the only one I could find with the features it has; too bad it doesn't deliver 100% value for the cash paid. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Please don't buy this product. You will regret: Sunday, July 27, 2008 eshin_yen from San Diego, California
The video will be sluggish. You will feel your mouse move being delayed. Please don't buy it. You will regret.
The item I tested was model 50US instead of 60US. 50US has 14 ping VGA output only. No DVI. The driver installed on Vista is not smooth. I had to download the latest version from internet, remove the old one and re-installed the new one. Finally, I have some registry error from then. Was this review helpful?

I would not recommend this product to anyone running Vista! I don't know how it would operate with any of the other MS operating systems because we haven't tried. If Targus could correct the software or find a DETAILED fix for MS Vista then maybe they would get better reviews. Until then I wouldn't recommend this product. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 My Targus Express Dock Experience Monday, July 02, 2007 danh from Sun Prairie, WI
I bought this product with the intention of finding a non-proprietary solution for docking stations. I tested this docking station with a fairly high end HP logo'd Compaq nc6320 utilizing XP Pro for an operating system. You must load the software driver package that is furnished with the Targus docking station onto the machines you will be docking with. Once this driver installation was performed, all devices attached to the docking station were identified and we have had no hardware issues to date. The Targus station is what seems to be basically a glorified USB hub. We had an external USB hard drive, a pair of low cost Harmon speakers, a USB optical mouse, USB keyboard, and a 19" flat panel display attached and our laptops found these devices efficiently through the docking station. The adapter for the pcmcia port was a little difficult to insert into the HP laptop but eventually, without force, I was able to fully insert and seat the adapter. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 XP ok, Vista not Friday, March 30, 2007 Deavenger from Chicago, IL
I was able to set this up on an XP machine without issue. However, the video driver would not load. Contacted Targus and was told they were going to "try" to put out Vista drivers for this dock. Don't buy if you plan on using Windows Vista Was this review helpful?
