Not that any of us round here really care for Wendell's moniker palstered all over our gear, but it has to be said that the products that bear his name are all pretty good. The Zalman Fatal1ty chassis was a real beauty...read the full review

The clarity of sound is also awesome.I agree with Chris like wen I was playing Half life episode 2 i could hear the creatures noise like they were near me. The sound is great. 4 of 5 Good for the discounted price Wednesday, May 28, 2008
MC from Sacramento, CA
I honestly like my Kinyo 5.1 Set better for some obvious reasons, but these are way more comfortable and I like the boom mouse vs the clip on that I have been using. I bought these because more times than not I end up with the headphones halfway on so I can hear my family yelling at me :( LOL. They are VERY comfortable, sound pretty good, and look great. My only real complaint would be the length of the cables and the weight of the control panel pulling on the cord, other than that they are great.

5 of 5 Great headset Thursday, May 15, 2008
Reviewer24601 from Salt Lake City, Utah
These have been perfect so far, they are VERY comfortable and the sound is good enough for playing my games and music. Price was great also, couldn't find them cheaper than buy.com I'd drop all the Fatal1ty logo stuff if I could but the logos aren't too annoying. Only CON for me is that the cord connects to both the right and the left ears, can't understand why they didn't build it so it only went into the left ear. But, that isn't a deal breaker for me.

4 of 5 great "bang" for the buck! Tuesday, May 13, 2008
justme from phila, pa
I bought this headset in one of those "oh what the heck" moments. I'd been looking for a new one and couldn't find anything I liked - or if I did like it, was way out of my price range.
This headset fits the bill quite nicely.
Headphone part ... covers my ears completely, is VERY comfy. I must have a small head, cause it is a tiny bit too big, but it's still not a problem. The bass is a little weak - just hit your EQ on your soundcard/mobo and crank that up some. You should be fine. LOVE the inline volume control/mic on-off switch. Yes it's big, but that's ok.
Microphone ... the mic IS truly noise cancelling. I tested this desktop recording with a friend talking to me about 3-5 feet away and me answering. All I heard on playback was me, which was a little creepy. It's a little .. I don't want to say loose? but it will drop just a tad from time to time from where you place it near your mouth. Also, try setting the mic so it's a bit below your lower lip - this mic should have a better cover so you don't get the breathing/P "pops" and S "hsss".
The cord ... the cord on this headset you can't really see in the picture. It's 1 cord on the right, 2 cords on the left and they merge into almost a "triple" cord - it's much heavier and seems so much sturdier than the normal little single cord. Especially if you're like me and sometimes trip over the cord?
Anyway, if you need something to just get the job done without alot of bells and whistles (minus points for the red on the headphones and Fatal1ity on the headband) - this might just be the headset for you.

5 of 5 Great Headphones for this Price Monday, May 12, 2008
Schroeber from Kansas City, KS
I was skeptical at first buying something with the "Fatal1ty" brand on them. I thought they would be horribly built and just trying to cash in on the name. But this is actually a pretty nice and well built headset.

The sound quality is nice, with good high and midrange sound. I wish the bass was a little stronger, but it's adequate for a set of headphones in this price range. The mic is also very responsive, and I've had others comment on how clear I sound over Teamspeak since I bought them. In-line volume controls are pretty standard for a headset in this price range.

The headset is also very comfortable, even while playing for long periods of time. Padding on the headband and ear cups are thick and soft, but those pieces may wear out over time.

My only gripe is that cords come out of both sides of the headset. Most headsets in the "list" price range of this unit usually wrap the cord in the headband and have it come out only one side. It nice to have the cords out of the way.

Also, be aware that this is a BIG headset. Be prepared to have someone make fun of you if they see you wearing them.

Bottom line, nice headset for $40. If you had to pay list price ($100), I would steer clear. There are better options out there if you have that much to spend on a headset. But for $40, they're the best set I've owned for that price.

5 of 5 Great Headset Wednesday, April 30, 2008
PT from TX
I had a plantronics before this with a boom mic. This one is far superior. The sound is awesome, I can hear everything, the mic is fantastic and they fit VERY comfortably on my ears. They also seem to be a lot cooler than my old ones, they don't trap the air in them, my ears don't seem so humid like with the other ones.

5 of 5 Great sound! Tuesday, April 29, 2008
RainmanP from New Orleans, LA
I bought this headset for use with Skype. Turns out it also has very good sound for listening to music, etc. Music sounds great on the headphones, but I do not consider myself an audiophile.

5 of 5 Fatal1ty Headset Review Saturday, April 26, 2008
A Customer from Carona, California
I decided it was time to get myself a new headset since i had a pretty uncomfortable one before that was only one ear and after contemplating this and another one that i can't recall now, i chose this one because it was cheaper and the mic looked better. I have had it for a couple weeks now i must say, it is awesome. The plush on it makes it a comfortable fit, the headset fits perfectly, mic works great, volume control and mute is nice, and sound quality works well. Probably the only thing i could say bad about this is that it is a little heavier then other headsets, but it doesn't bother me too much, so I would recommend it.

5 of 5 This is the PROFESSIONAL series Tuesday, April 22, 2008
BTaz from Ball, Louisiana
For the $40 I paid, this headset is definitely worth having. The speakers are very clear. I can hear details not found in cheaper headsets. Bass is comparatively lacking, but that is expected in better headphones. Adjusting soundcard EQ helps (I have Soundblaster Audigy2zs). Much better clarity once you change this, nonetheless. The control knobs are further down the cord which keeps you from accidentally changing the volume with your hip. My only gripe would be the maximum volume being a little less than many other headsets. They are on par with dedicated headphones but have magnetic-sheilding to eliminate screen discoloration when resting on or near a CRT monitor (I love this). The microphone is perfect for gaming (didn't really care). Even has a red LED next to mic switch when on. The headset is only a little "uncomfortable" for the first minute but then quickly "disappears". No headaches for me, and no ear discomfort at all as pads do not touch ears (I have average-sized male ears, biggish head). I use these for games and music, comfortable for long use. Very rigid construction. I would highly recommend these, but only at the huge discount I got at Buy.com. Paying full price for these would be a mistake. You could get better headsets at that price.

5 of 5 Very comfortable, great sound Wednesday, April 16, 2008
Satisfied Customer from W Lafayette, Indiana
These headphones are extremely comfortable even on me. I'm a tall guy with a fat head, and these are the first headphones I've ever owned that actually fit. The earcups are large, there is ample padding, and there are no uncomfortable pressure points. Construction is otherwise typical for this type of headset (average plastics), so we'll see about durability, but the sound is very good for the money. The microphone has great sound and noise reduction. My only complaint is that the "mic on" LED doesn't work. For me this is no big deal; I decided to live with it. Outstanding value at this price ($39.99).

5 of 5 Fantastic for the money... Monday, April 14, 2008
Jonathan VonEngeln from Kansas City, Mo
Senn HD-535's sound better, but not by a whole lot. These are very nice headphones for the money. I'd buy them again after having heard them next to my Senn's. These Fatal1ty's are definately better than the sennheiser 4xx series, and MUCH better than most any other "dept" store headphones that most people use. ---- for $40 bucks they are a fantastic set of cans. I'll keep these Fatal1ty's around for their purpose - for gaming use and use my Sennheisers for strict music listening. Sumamry: It's nice to have a quality set of headphones for this price with a mic attached for online gaming - the mic does NOT seem to be removable however??? They get really loud without distortion and sound nearly up to par with mid/high-range sennheisers.

3 of 5 Would not work on my son's pc Monday, April 14, 2008
A Customer from Indian Trail, NC
My son could not get this to work on his older Dell with his soundblaster sound card. Sound was distorted. It worked fine on mine, but I do not have a high end sound card. Not sure what the problem was, but I am using it now for Spanish software without a problem. It would have had to be sent back if he was going to use it for gaming though.
