Don't make me install software I don't want

I just bought the Western Digital 500GB My Book Essential Edition 2.0 External Hard Drive, and so far I'm pretty satisfied with the product. The only issue I have is with the Google software. Unless I really missed something, the installation process automatically installs various Google software without giving you a choice if you want it or not. That is really in poor taste because I don't use it, I don't plan on using it and I don't want to be forced to install software I don't want. Plus, it makes a much longer installation process, as I had to go back and uninstall the software I didn't want or need.

Good Buy for 100 bucks

I picked this up last week for 100 dollars and it's a good buy. I just needed some extra storage for all of our pictures and quicktime videos. If you only need storage or additional back up for photos and video only its a good value. If you plan to video editing or software backup I would consider something else.

The only negative about this drive is that it's not made to be portable, so be careful if you plan to pack it with you everytime you leave.

I bought this product because I take A LOT of photos of my family and friend it was taking up so much space on my computer and making cd after cd just got old so i installed this and after moving all my photos and music it only took up a very small spaceon this hard drive but freed up a lot of space on my computer! I love it and once it's full (which will be a while) I will just store it and buy another one so I will always have my photo and don't have to worry about losing or erasing any of them!
