Good product for price

Considering the price I think the sound quality for these speakers is good. The tweeters stand out as the best part of this system. Bear in mind, I'm using a good quality 24-bit sound card from Creative. A lesser sound setup (such as on-board) such as onmy backup system may not sound as good. Getting back to the review: the tweeters are very loud, clear, and have a good sound stage.

Also surprisingly good were the lows. I've listened to various music and movies and the sound that comes out is quite full. I would estimate the effective range to be somewhere around 55-20,000hz.

The mids sound just a tad bit muddy and could definitely be a bit clearer, but I do not think it detracts from the overall experience as the entire range is reproduced fairly well. I wish the mids were boosted a bit like in my Bose Companion 3's since this enhances the movie experience, but that's my opinion.

Volume button: this will definitely turn some people off. You have to turn the volume knob quite far to get the sound tocome out. I regularly listen to it at 1:00 position to get good sound out of it. Many people will consider this to be a lack of power, having to turn it so far over just to get decent sound. However, if you turn the vol to the max, it will most likely belouder than you will need. I know for certain that I will not have any need to turn it to the max because these are sitting on my desktop which is quite close to my ears. In my opinion, this deficiency does not detract from the listening experience.

I am mildly alarmed at the bass port on top of the speakers which can allow things to fall inside. A screen would be nice here.

Less important features:

The speakers are beautiful on my desktop. They are sleek and modern looking. The green Power On indicator is not overly bright. The knobs are easy to grab and turn. They also have little detents which stop at 12:00 so you know when you're at the mid way point.

Given the low price, I would recommend this speaker to a friend. I have broken in these speakersnow for roughly 10 hours.

The right speaker is connected to the left via an RCA type cable that is permanently affixed to the left speaker. The length of the cable was decent, perhaps 6 feet or so which was plenty for me. If you want to lengthen the speaker wires you'll need a way to connect the RCA plugs. These speakers would also make a good upgrade for your TV if it came with cheap sounding speakers.

What a surprise !!

I bought these to replace a Boston Acoustic Digital Media speaker set, which I bought about 8 years ago. The bass module was humming constantly, which completely drove me nuts. I did not have a chance to hear these before purchase, so I was not expectingmuch. Man I was totally surprised. These speakers sound awesome, with nice detailed high and good bass. For $39.99 + rebate, this is the best $30.00 I have spent in a while. GREAT VALUE :-) Just can't justify $150.00 or more right now.

Great Speakers at an Excellent Price

I just purchased these speakers a few days ago. They look very well made and blend well with my other computer components. The sound quality is excellent with great clear highs and solid bass. There is no need for a sub woofer third speaker with the T10's. The speakers are easy to hook up to my computer (Dell) and I had no problems. I got them for a great price on sale with a $20.00 rebate at Circuit City.

I highly recommend these speakers for anyone needing to upgrade to a quality sounding speaker. I really cannot hear much difference from the Bose Companion 2 speaker that I compared the Creative T 10 with.
