5 of 5 Great Product Sunday, November 30, 2008 JerryC from Palmer, PA
This item performs flawlessly. It ia currently attached to my laptop (Toshiba Qosmio). I have attached a variety of devices (External HDD, External DVD burner (48X) and a 8G Thumb drive. All perform pefectly.
I would recommend this item to any one. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Does the job Tuesday, November 11, 2008 A Customer from Brooklyn, NY
I got 2 for fifteen bucks after mail-in-rebate. They work great. No power problem like the Belkin USB hub that I have.
One "cosmetic" thing that I find strange is that all the green lights by each of the USB port light up regardless of whether a device is plugged in to a port or not. What's the point? Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 A Great Compact Design Tuesday, November 11, 2008 Steve from Redding, CT
The D-Link 7 port hub replaces a 4 port hub that is over 150% larger. But even with the higher density of plugs, it is barely warm. A nice design job D-Link! I will probably put Velcro on the bottom of this so it is more stationary. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 plug and play Saturday, November 08, 2008 A Customer from reno nv
plug it in and it will handle the work load. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good usb hub Thursday, November 06, 2008 Alex from Peoria, IL
awesome product, works well, no problem in the 2 weeks, highly recommended. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 A very good product Saturday, November 01, 2008 A Customer from Canton CT
I mounted the hub under my monitor with velcro, making it very accessible. It works very well, and with price of $14 after rebate, it was a very good value. It saves having to crawl behind my computer every time I want to add a USB device. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 These D-Link Hubs Are Never A Problem Saturday, October 11, 2008 David Roberts from Enumclaw, WA
This is about the third or fourth D-Link USB hub I have bought. They are never a problem and keep on working quite happily.
I have one that has 5 printers and a scanner plugged into it. Just keeps on going.
I have used others, but I would always go with D-Link if I can. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 good value Wednesday, October 08, 2008 A Customer from Denver, CO
I've got 3 of these now, one at each of my various workplaces, and they all work perfectly. I like the fact they can be powered (for quicker charging of devices like my cell phone, iPod, and bluetooth earphone) or run passively off the computer's USB port. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works as advertised! Tuesday, October 07, 2008 Paul from Fort Worth, TX
Installed replacing a previously (after many years) failing d-link 4 port hub. I wanted a hub that offered more ports and that would perform well regardless of the task. I have not tested the theory that it would kick down the speed of the 2.0 devices if any 1.0 device is plugged in at the same time, but the instructions do state to expect just that. Even if you were do to that, I would not expect it to be that important. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works great Thursday, September 25, 2008 A Customer from Crystal River, FL
I've had this about two weeks now. I'm running a MyBook 500GB USB drive, a Passport 250GB drive and an Acomdata 250GB USB drive from it. All without incident.
Previously, I'd tried to run these one at a time from the USB hub in my Gateway 24" LCD monitor (FHD2400) but it just didn't work.
WISHLIST
I wish it was heavier and had screw mounting holes so I could attach it to the wall. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Decent HUB Wednesday, September 24, 2008 A Customer from San Jose
It good for big desk, and for desktops. For laptops and smaller desks, a bit harder to use. it needs Usb ports in the front ad back. But all in all its good, Nothing is broken yet Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good hub Wednesday, September 24, 2008 A Customer from North Brunswick
only one issue with this hub... I wish the the lights would light up only when there is an active device plugged into the port. It lights up the whole room at night. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Hub! Tuesday, September 23, 2008 thebillking from Watsonville, CA
This is the 3rd or 4th USB hub I've purchased over the years. The last one would not support all the peripherals at the same time. I lived with that frustration for over a year. All the ports in the D-Link are in use, and everything works. I couldn't be happier with the product. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great, but a tight squeeze Thursday, September 18, 2008 A Customer from Iowa City, IA
I like tis a lot. I"ve had it plugged in for a few hours and it's not getting warm, so that's good. Overall construction is plastic, but feels solid. A couple other good things: it works with or without the power supply, so if you're just plugging in a mouse receiver and a flash drive, you can leave the power cord at home. Obviously, using the power cord lets you plug in more higher-powered devices. THe power cord itself has the transformer built into the plug, but it's pretty small so still fits on my power strip easily. The unit itself is about the size of a pack of smokes (maybe 100s).
The only problem that I have with the unit is that the sockets into which one plugs their USB devices are REALLY tight. Not as in 'good snug fit' but as in 'I hope this doesn't break I'm having to push so hard'. MAybe this is a good thing in the long run when they loosen up a bit, but it's darned annoying now. 5 of 5 D-Link 7-Port USB Hub Is Fabulous Monday, September 15, 2008 Paul Pendleton from Stephenville, TX
I had been extremely disappointed with a Cables To Go 7-Port USB Hub which came with an underpowered 2 amp power supply, wasn't Vista compatible, and failed completely 18 months after I bought it. I finally gave up, tossed the unit, bought the D-Link 7-Port USB Hub with a 3 amp power supply from Buy.com and had no problem using it with any USB 1.1 or 2.0 devices including my 0.5 amp USB powered scanner booting either Vista or Xp. The only negative is that there's no way to mount it with screws. I had to use double-sided tape on the bottom of it to hold it down. Was this review helpful?
