5 of 5 Handy little drive Thursday, June 26, 2008 A Customer from Middletown, CT.
Great drive for transporting file between computers, plenty of room for photos and files. Just plug it in and its ready to go. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellant product Wednesday, June 25, 2008 A Customer from Riverside California
Great item and very good price! I like to keep pictures from different events on them in case of computer crash or just to take them with me wherever else I want to show them off. The Data traveler lets me do that easily! 2 gigs?? Lots of room! Really nice slide away feature too! Was this review helpful?

The slide-away USB plug is a very nice feature as is the (very thin) tether with a small ring at its end. I am somewhat disappointed with its speed, though. I used 2 drive speed tester utilities and they both agreed that this unit is definitely and noticeably slower that the "Kingston 2GB DataTraveler USB 2.0 Flash Drive - DTI/2GB" (green inlay on a white body).
(http://www.buy.com/prod/kingston- 2gb-datatraveler-usb-2-0-flash-drive/q/ loc/101/202378602.html).
Well, it does sell for two bucks less than the DTI/2GB. Just a note - there are other 2GB USB drives will run rings around both of these. But, if speed isn't critical, then these are great buys. Was this review helpful?

After my old Lexar firefly had its case pulled apart by two years of wear, I started searching for a replacement. Value and performance were on my list. When I came across this kingston flash drive; initial impressions: Inexpensive, looks ok, specs are ok, quality cant be too bad. The unfortunate truth is that not all of these were true. Value was good as I didnt pay much out of my pocket for it and a 2GB version of this drive is priced like a 512mb-1GB flash drive. BUT, it was much slower at loading than my last lexar and took too much time to load 1.5 GB of memory for such a recent flash drive. And then theres the quality. It FEELS like an inexpensive product. I cant help but feel that the casing will pull apart everytime you knock the FD with your elbow, and the status light is very dim. There is also a rattling and I managed to bend the drive within a week of when I bought it (I dont expect the drive to last more than a year or so). But then again, it works, it loads dismally but decently, it is reasonably compact, and keeps 2GB of files, and can be had on a penny pinching budget. Just treat it like a good flash drive that came out a year or two ago and performance to match and all of a sudden the flash drive makes alot of sense. Its just not on par with higher end sandisk cruzers.

Stores data like it supposed to. The slider sticks a little and I'm afraid I might break it. But, so far so good. Was this review helpful?
