5 of 5 Perfect for podcasts and left handers Saturday, July 19, 2008 Eric from Buffalo WY
This is a great player, with nice large "clicky" controls, that sounds great. I use it with rhythmbox on linux (ubuntu heron) and it works well.
The original software worked alright, but the player really shined when I put Rockbox on it. "Flipping" the interface allowed me to use the controls with my left hand, without covering the screen. Setting the player to return to the same place in a file on powerup means I am about 4 seconds away from getting back into a podcast at any moment.
Note: This is the C240, with the square controls, not the previous c140 with the round controls that was still pictured at the time this was written. The one I received was a V1 software, making it compatible with rockbox which makes the player much more useful, but I would have been satisfied with the default software. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great product, Greater Price Monday, July 14, 2008 randy from River Falls, WI
The SanDisk Sansa is a really great, easy to use MP3 player.
I like that it has alot of features, including radio, for such a small price. I looked for a long time before buying this player and truly feel that I received the absolute best value for my money. I definitely recommend this product. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent mp3 player among other things Sunday, July 13, 2008 Richard from Jacksonville, FL
For an incredible price, this mp3 player, voice recorder, data transferer performs more than expected:
1- sound quality & volume awesome, in fact better than my ipods.
2- FM radio performs better than any other old ones, picking up signal better & not drifting while moving, like staying put when I'm mowing the lawn.
3- very easy to use, in fact just plug in any USB port and copy & paste whatever; the player is recognized immediately in all of my computers (and my friends')
4- there's an equalizer setting for your listening preference.
5- there's a voice recorder, good for memos/interviews/dictation.
6- there's a photo viewer, tiny, but if you've seen one of these keychain photo viewer, you won't need to pay extra.
7- the player can be used to transfer data, unlike the ipods.
8- there's a slot for micro-SD card for expansion which was not mentioned in the ad for the player. I put in a 2GB at less than 20 bucks.
9- the battery lasts more than 10 hours per charge, using any USB port.
Now the only glitch is this same battery which you can't replace easily once it quits working, like the ipods then.
But, for less than 20 bucks, I bought an extra just in case, which came within 1 week (free shipping).
What can I say?

4 of 5 One more thing to add Saturday, July 12, 2008 Bob from NY
I already wrote a review on one but since I purchased two I get to write another review.
I'm not sure if this is real important for some but from the product description it states this unit runs from one AAA battery when in fact it has a built in lion rechargeable battery. I would have preferred the AAA battery as I have a lot of rechargeable AAA's and not always a USB power source to recharge. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good at playing music, photos not so much. Saturday, July 12, 2008 Bob from NY
This was a steal at $19.99 and I purchased two. Like any sansa model transferring music is a breeze and it is very easy to navigate. It has good features such as EQ, go-lists, FM tuner and a nice color screen. Although the screen is nice for viewing your music tracks and the interface it leaves a lot to be desired for viewing photos. Even though the screen is small one wouldn't expect how poor the resolution is. All the pics I loaded looked washed out and sometimes you need to angle the screen so you can see what you are looking at. You can adjust the brightness but it doesn't help much. Overall for a 1 gig mp3 player under $20 shipped it is an excellent value, just don't expect it to be a great compact photo viewer as well. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Good MP3 Saturday, July 12, 2008 A Customer from Houston, TX
Everything are good but the headphone sound not as good in bass, volume didnot stay with manual setting always mid loud after turn on. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 awesome, best price, works well Friday, July 11, 2008 Rob from New London, WI
For $20 and free shipping you can't go wrong. Though it's the old c240 I love this MP3 player, I got it for when I'm exercising. Battery lasts awhile and it's a permanent battery that can be replaced by owner. Easily syncs music. Unlike the last Sansa that I bought, I think it was a m240 (round body, with AAA battery) which still doesn't work, it's impossible to get working!!!
This one is awesome. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great value Thursday, July 10, 2008 drummer83 from Charlottesville, VA
Easy to use and sounds great. I'm happy I can expand the size with micro-sd cards, which are pretty inexpensive right now. Haven't put playlists together yet, but I'm sure I will learn.
Had a couple tech questions and Sansa was quick to respond (via email).
Highly recommended. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great Player Monday, June 09, 2008 drmarkel from Bradenton,Fl.
We purchased this player in Febuary for our grandaughter. She realy loves it.
In May,my wife washed a load of clothes with the Sansa in a pocket. After the washing it went into the dryer. As she folded clothes we found the sansa.
The Sansa did not work so I ordered a new one for her.Well after the battery cooled down, the Sansa came back to life and my grandaugher is still using it
Pretty amazing! Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 I like it but it is not working aswell as I though Thursday, April 17, 2008 Jon from Taylorsville, UT
I like the easy to read display screen. Options are easy to find and use. I am having a hardtime downloading songs from my laptop. It is only downloading one song at a time, I have many songs in line to have downloaded but it stops short of downloading the rest of the songs. I have to start over each time I want to add a song. It has a good sound with plenty of volume but when recording music from the radio the sound is not very good. I have ordered two players and I am still waiting for the second player that was order April 2nd. Looking forward to see if the other player works better. Was this review helpful? |
