5 of 5 Great phone, loaded with features Sunday, October 05, 2008 A Customer from New York, NY
I "sidegraded" to this phone from a Nokia E-61. The E-51 is very fast, takes a 8gb microSDm uses all S60 v3 apps, and most importantly connects to my T-mobile Blackberry service.
The predictive typing works well. Call quality is great, Nokia build quality is superb. This thing does it all, and yet is still a wonderful, solid, "basic" phone in a compact form factor.
I have all my email, music, connectivity. I can even get calls from my company's IP phone system. Like, all S60 devices, you have to invest a little time to learning it all and getting it all straight, but it's a tremendous device. It might be the most under-rated and least hyped smartphone device of the year. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Sleek phone with nice build quility Wednesday, September 10, 2008 Kylechanb from GA
The build quality of this phone is excellence. I've owned about 15 phones in my life and this by far the best. Design is sleek and keypad is easy to use. No lagging ( this is my first S60 phone). Wifi is fast and easy to use. Nokia suite is easy to use and I've used the BT to transfer file from my laptop without any problem. Still haven't try all the function yet. The only draw back is the camera. The camera of E51 and music quality don't match with the W810i that I had 2 years ago. But again, this is not a phone made for these purpose! 4 of 5 Good Phone/ Not 3G compatible with ATT Monday, August 25, 2008 A Customer from Chicago, IL
I love the phone, I have always loved Nokia Phones. this one does everything I expected to do. I upgraded from an Iphone to this one and I love it. The only problem i found was that it was not compatible with the 3g network of my carrier(att/cingular). So my always on the EDGE network which is slow internet. The reason i switched from the iphone's slow edge network to be on a 3g with this phone, was not a realistic upgrade. But other than that it does other pretty cool stuff. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 extremely happy Saturday, August 09, 2008 A Customer from Detroit, Michigan
If you're looking for a 3g phone without the bulkiness of an iphone of a blackberry this is the phone for you. This is my 7th Nokia phone. I haven't been disappointed yet. This by far is the best one I've had. The wi-fi is great, picture quality is ok (could use a flash), download speeds fast (with att), moving through programs is fast no stalling, you can personalize the phone to no end there are a ton of options to make the phone as user friendly as possible. Battery life is middle of the road. I have gotten about 5-7 hours of talk time. I need to charge it roughly every three days with moderate wi-fi use and talking. Even though buying these phones unlocked is expensive it is way worth it for this phone. Was this review helpful?

Outstanding phone with great features! I love its sleek profile and abundance of features. Exactly what I wanted at the cheapest price I found anywhere. I added a 4GB MicroSD card to store extra music/photos/video and it works like a dream. Awesome buying experience with Buy.com! Was this review helpful?

I was an Apple Iphone user and bought this phone because i got tired of apple not supporting MS Exchange. I didn't want to carry around one of those Blackberry bricks, so went for the E51.
Pros:
Small and thin.
Clear Screen.
Excellent battery life.
Great call quality.
Cons:
Rubberized buttons on the top and side are awful to say the least.
3G is not compatible with AT&T at least.
This is a real phone unlike my previous iphone which is an Ipod which just happens to do phone stuff.I would recommend this phone to anybody who needs a business phone and is comfortable using T9 predictive text typing.

5 of 5 Great Buy Saturday, June 28, 2008 Jose Bonilla from Vega Baja, Puerto Rico
I purchase this phone 2 weeks ago and I'm enjoying it. Nokia is an excellent manufacturer you cant go wrong. Price on the phone still high compare to others but quality from Nokia will pay for itself. The greatest features are the wi-fi conection it really moves fast, the ability to download 100's of free aplications and games, you can sync with outlook, read excell files you name it. The only draw back is the small keys but with time you get the hang of it. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Nokia e51 Saturday, February 09, 2008 A Customer from Phoenix, AZ
I purchased this phone because of its features and the fact that it is a Nokia. Upon receiving it from Buy.com I noticed the security tape was not intact but everything in the box looked ok except for the fact that it had two users guides, both of which were in french. The language that was on the phone was UK english so any voice responses given by the phone actually had an accent. I began to wonder if the phone was an overseas phone but upon calling Nokia they indicated it was not.
Very odd. The phone appears to have a glitch in it where the voice activation button on the side only activates voice recorder. Nokia indicated that I needed to send it back for repair. I suspect I got a dud but hope that is not why buy.com's price was on the low end. All other functions work ok. The phone has good menu structure easily navigated but the buttons are rather small to manipulate. My biggest problem is that the backspace/delete key is just below the navigation keys so I often try to scroll down, accidentally hit the delete key and have to make sure I carefully back out so as not to delete information. It has happened on more than one occasion where I did delete important data and had to re-sync the unit. The screen is also rather small for video features if that's what you like about the phone.
All in all, the phone has most features anyone could ask for and the price point is very good. I would suggest holding one and working the keys prior to purchase if you can to make sure the keypad is acceptable for you. Aside from that, the phone is a good buy. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 An incredible phone Friday, February 01, 2008 A Customer from New York, NY
The Nokia E51 appears very pedestrian at first glance, but once you start using it, you'll wonder how you ever got along without it. The S60 operating system makes a huge library of applications available for use on the phone, supplementing the already long list of built-in apps such as the QuickOffice viewer, A2DP-capable media players, and organizer applications. The battery life is very good, and the small and slim dimensions of the phone makes it very pocketable compared to other S60-based phones. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excelent phone Monday, December 17, 2007 Madi from College Station, TX
This is a truly perfect phone. The best I ever had. The major advantage is the size and functionality. Being only 12 mm thick it has almost everything you may want to have for communication, entertainment and business purposes. Just read the specifications and you will get the idea what this phone can do. Another advantage is ergonomics. It has a convinient Home button like an I-Phone. You can program to run your most used applications just in one touch or click, no more searching through the menu. By the way, unlike other phones this phone solds out quickly. This is another new reeincarnation of the popular nokia smartphone e series, this time slimmer and with a very classic look nokia brings a lot to the table with a very feature packed phone. The only lacking thing to reach perfection would be GPS and a Xenon Flash, this symbian phone has everything else!.
If you are looking for a good smartphone with lots of functionality this is your choice... also if you are looking to upgrade your symbian based nokia device this is a great oportunity too.
Pros:
Great size
Web Browser is great specially using wi-fi
Hot swap memory cards (up to 4gb)
Very good screen
Very good battery life
Solid construction
Cons:
Symbian is slow specially compared to an iphone everything seems slow this days. Was this review helpful?
