My wife bought me a 32" Niko LCD TV about a year and a half ago. Until a couple days ago i have been very satisfied with the TV, picture was fantastic, and it was modestly less expensive than similar TV's when we got it. The TV unfortunately just stopped working though. It seems to get power just fine, (and the inputs are fne too), however the screen reamains dark. Nothing. As it is past the 1 year warranty I contacted a couple local tv repair places who told me they do not repair Niko TVs. I then called Viewtek (the manufacturer of the prestegious Niko brand) to see if i could send it back to them to have it fixed. They said they won't take it becasue that model has been discontinued and they don't supply parts for it anymore. 18 months after i bought it and they don't make parts for it anymore? Come On. This product is cheaper than the name brands, but there is a reason for this. The price is cheap because their quality is cheap. My advice, spend a few extra bucks and get a name brand, don't learn the hard way like I did. Was this review helpful?

The DTV input failed to work properly. Still under warranty, we obtained authorization to return the product for repairs; shipping at our expense ($80). We included detailed information regarding the problem and troubleshooting we had tried. The product was returned and still does not work properly. Was this review helpful?

Im writing this review after i bought this tv a year ago online from this site.At that time there were no reviews at all but i belived if u buy any tv it can last atleast 10yrs minimum and my experience in the past confirmed it.After exactly an year the tv started giving me trouble and the background is turning into flourescent green after i use the tv for 20 minutes.I called customer care and they are in california, im in NYC.they want me to ship this to them and they repair and ship it back to me.I have seen the shipping charges on fedex and UPS, they are charging me half the price of the tv. Having had to have this tv repaired twice, memory loss, green screen then no response at all from technical support when the power supply failed, I can only say stay away from this brand. Was this review helpful?

I've bought several products from Buy.Com from unknown manufacturers with excellent results. This NIKO has a sharp picture, good sound, a decent number of inputs (only one HDMI). The only downside I have found is they offer a remote control from hell. The remote offers no control options for components and NIKO has not coordinated with either Dish Network or Direct TV to offer codes for their TV's. Your options are purchase a pricey Learning Remote or use 2 controls. Overall a nice product with good value. Was this review helpful?

Perhaps the worst buying experience from a vendor (Niko) I have ever had. Took 4 phones calls and a Niko supervisor to ok the return of this unit(memory, green screen). Then when returned still had the same issues. Again returned, this time on return it worked (replaced with used unit). Then after a few months it died with a loud ZAP (not under warranty). I bought this TV back in NOV 06. Got my rebate 6 months later which is still better than never. The TV works great, I have my DVD, and two computers hooked up to the TV at all times switching back and forth is an ease and using PIP. You can hook up almost anything to the TV. I use the TV mainly as a monitor and the graphic is awesome. Great value for the price. Was this review helpful?

I got this TV for my bedroom with hd for a great price at first i didn't understand how to use some of the option on the TV, but after i spoke to someone from niko which he was very helpful i had this TV working great,this is a very nice TV that has many outlets for different kinds of usage, its the perfect TV for my bedroom!!! I bought this TV few months ago, i have it hook up to my HD cable box the picture is beautiful!!!! i also had some issues with the fuctioning of the TV i called Niko and they were very helpful in assiting me with my problems, i'm soo glad i bought this TV i save a bunch and got a great TV,good buy!!!! Do not buy this product!
I purchased this November 2006 and by April 2007
the contrast automatically goes red, and the screen
size ratio switches back and forth on it's own! I have
contacted Niko 3 weeks ago about he warranty and surprise!
no response...ie in my opinion the tuner is not trustworthy
and obviously Niko's customer service blows!

I purchased the previous model 32" Niko 32 LCD in November of 2006 and am still waiting for my rebate check (its the middle of April 2007). Every time I talk to onrebate.com (when they actully respond) they tell me the check is scheduled to be sent out in "a couple of weeks". This has been going on since January. When you calculate whether or not this is a good value, don't count the rebate in your calculations because it's probably not worth the effort and there's a good chance you won't receive it. I was in the hunt for an HDTV. But also one that is economically satisfying to my budget. I am a recent college graduate, but I also love using my XBOX 360 video game system. I needed an upgrade from my original TV from back in my college days. I found this NIKO deal on buy.com which by the way has the BEST deals out of all the websites. The TV looks very nice, I like the picture quality. The thing that I don't like is the sound while playing DVDs. Yes the TV gives you many choices on how to play the sound like "techno" mode or "sports" mode or "classic" mode, amoung others. But the sound is very very choppy in DVDs. However, you get what you paid for. This is an excellent item for the casual user like myself. Was this review helpful?
