Surge/UPS: The APC Back-UPS ES 8 protects your computer with both battery-protected and surge-only outlets.

Eight outlets: Four of the outlets are devoted strictly to battery backup making it easy to keep your important information safe. The other four are dedicated to protecting your expensive equipment from surges.

Backup time: This UPS offers up to 87 minutes of backup time at 80VA/50 watts.

365 Joules: With a surge energy rating of 365 Joules, the suppressor can handle almost any surge.

I have had this product for only two months when we had a power failure at my house. The APC UPC beeped at me and I had time to shut down my PC in an orderly fashion. I've owned APC products for over 10 years and have always been satisfied. I particularly like the lower profile on this unit.

I have owned at three APC'sin the past fourteen years. Bought my first one right after the power surged in my home and left my computer with burned areas on the motherboard and wiped out my power supply. Since then, these APC products have had a place inmy home and always will. This unit is one of the best on the market for saving energy and protecting your valuable computer. I have been saved many times during power failures. I have been luck and the life of the batterys have been longer then what it tells you in there booklet. This product is a must have if you don't want to lay out more money for another computer that has been fried from a brown out. No cons, all plus's, east to install, I rate this a ten out of ten.
