5 of 5 Good on the go. Thursday, December 20, 2007 Nate from Westminster, CO
Having upgraded from a Myfi, this thing is nice. It weighs next to nothing, but thats because its tuner is not built in. It does not play live music, unlike the inno or helix, but I knew that going in. The portable XM reception blows anyways unless you live in bigger city with terrestial repeaters. I wanted something portable that I could copy my favorite shows, O&A and Ron & Fez, and it works great. I also got it on sale for 37, so it was a great deal. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good price, good item ! Thursday, November 29, 2007 A Customer from New Jersey
I purchased this unit about a month ago and it's been working very well. It's extremely easy to use, especially for me who doesn't like to have complicated gadget. The signal on certain channel sometime is flaky but that's XM's issue, not this unit's.
I'd recommend this unit :)
On the downside, the unit works (for XM) only when docked. So I record hours of music and just take it with me. Other than that, I'm happy with this. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Samsung NeXus 25 - XM Ready Digital Audio Player Tuesday, November 27, 2007 prakash from san jose
i bought this from buy.com. i am using it in my car and enjoying every moment of it and the sound Quality is gr8 especialy songs with 320 kbps. I still can't belive i got it free after MIR from BUY.com. Its easy to upload of songs to this devise, no need of extra software or driver, just hook up with USB to your PC. i havn't tried XM music as its ridiculous to pay anything more than $3 per annum for subscription. Headphone is not that ergonomic quality is gr8 though. battery is good and losts long. it has limited but good features. SD slot is missing. Overall i am happy with this and its a good device for those who are able to spend $7 a month to listen pure digital commercial-free music.

5 of 5 Buy it NOW! Friday, November 09, 2007 Bill from Dallas
What a great little player! I got it just to record one of the shows each day, then I play it back driving to and from work. It has worked like a charm for 6 months now. Not a single problem. And XM has a ton of content to listen to. It works anywhere as long as you have a clear view of the Southern sky. I have even used it with a power converter in my truck on the highway. 4 of 5 Great for the money ! Thursday, November 01, 2007 A Customer from NJ
Just received NeXus25 and signed up with XM monthly..
I never had XM service before but it was easy and operation of NeXus is very easy.... (recording and organizing)
I don't need anything fancy when it comes to listening to music so this is perfect! I am setting this up in my kitchen with stereo system so we can listen to the streaming music while haveing the party.
I'd recomend this unit ! Why not, it's close to FREE !
The only thing is(and it must be where I'm placing the XM antenna), the radio cuts off time to time. Was this review helpful?

I initially decided to buy this because of the bargain. $50 with $70 in Rebates. Yes, they were going to pay me $20 to take this. But, things aren't always what they seem. You have to sign up for three months of XM Radio and pay a one time sign up fee to get the rebate, that totalled $48.00. And now I have to decide if I want to keep XM for $12.95/month.
It is important to realize some things about this Radio/MP3 player combo. First, it is not a portable XM Radio. It can only receive and record XM when attached to the cradle. Second, the recordings are excellent. It even separates songs into tracks so that your recording session can be listened to all at once, or track by track. That was a pleasant surprise to me.
Third, most Samsung players are compatible with Napster "To Go" service, this one is not. Because the enclosed software includes a Napster/XM connection, I assumed it was. I am a Napster subscriber and so I thought "If the XM doesn't work out, I can always use it as a Napster player and download tracks to go. But you can't. The Napster/XM connection is only an attempt to sell tracks through Napster by providing a direct link to purchase a track you hear on XM simply by clicking on the link. Lastly, understand that the cradle for this XM player is a home unit. It cannot be used in your car. ( There is a car unit for sale, but it costs more than this entire player. Of course, you can take the recording unit along and play it through the headphones, through the radio if you have a transmitter, or through an auxillary input.)I later found that XM radios are being practically given away these days, and saw several car units for less than $20, some with a similar rebate to make them free. I wonder if I might have been happier with just getting one of those so I could listen on the road.
Overall, this is an interesting little gadget. And I am enjoying the XM programming, especially Bob Dylan's Theme Time Radio Hour.
By the way, your XM Radio subscription allows you to listen online as well, so there's a sense in which you don't need the unit at work (or home) if you subscribe. Most channels are available online for streaming on your computer

5 of 5 XM to go! Tuesday, August 07, 2007 General from Salt Lake City, Utah
The nexus is a great deal. It is small enough that I can take it with me in the car, the boat and at home all with one subscription. The record feature is a nice plus if I hear a song that I want to hear later - just hit record - pretty nice. I also use the mini tuner (passport?) module along with the home dock kit with my xm ready home receiver so that I can use the receiver's display and remote / tuner. This works great, I wish my car stereo worked this way. The car kit is not the best and the clips don't hang on to my vents very well, and I don't have vents to clip onto on my boat so I have to stuff it into the glove box.. A new car kit that just hangs off of the cigarette adapter (like ipod stuff) would be nice. Or even better, a way to just plug the mini tuner into a car stereo. Overall, though I am very pleased, especially at the price paid! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Product Friday, June 29, 2007 M from Boston, MA
This really is a great product. I have XM in my car, and with the Nexus. The Nexus is so nice, it makes me wish I didn't have XM in my car. I'm considering buying a second Nexus, and cancelling my XM car account. Recording music, songs, and stations from XM is awesome. Plus you can bookmark a song for purchase later. The 4 for performance is due to the lack of memory expansion. I bought the 25, and would buy the 50, or the largest available for my next one. Great deal. You will not be disappointed. I love this device. I have been an XM user on and off for many years and now with this device can record and take my favorite tunes with me. It at absolutely worth the money at $50 and less. I highly recommend it. The only downside is that you can't play XM music when it's not connected via AC adapter and antenna. Other than that - it is wonderful! Was this review helpful?

I absolutely LOVE the Nexus 25 XM satellite portable!! It's gotten great reviews on Amazon but the professional "reviwers" always whine about the lack of live mode on the go and lack of color. Bah! Big freaking deal! Sure the color models are very cool looking but I'm not buying it for the screen but for XM programming and features! I got the Nexus 25 and I absolutely love it! Aside from no color screen, no tune select or live mode outside of the car/home dock, it pretty much does EXACTLY what the Inno/Helix does! Having my own recorded songs on the go with me is way more appealing then listening to live XM since if I don't like a song, I have to turn the channel, then that channel might have something that sucks etc etc, the signal could drop but with my own recorded stuff, that won't happen! I can create playlists on the fly, edit them, even edit the name of the playlists, DELETE unwanted songs from scheduled recordings when I'm watching tv, sleeping etc, lock in songs so they are not accidentally taped over and it has a song buffer just like the Inno/Helix. This means if you are listening to a channel when that special song comes on even if you catch the song in the middle , you can hit record and yes most of the time depending on the channel and length of song, it will record the song from the beginning! The passport is a cool included gadget as well, although some people won't like the fact if they don't have live XM going for at least 8 hrs a month, you will be locked out of ALL your recorded content. That is no big deal to me at since I will definately be recording stuff so it will be on much longer then 8 hrs a month! lol
The Nexus is not the stepchild of the color models but a very well made, very small, thin, sleek unit of it's own that does exactly what it's supposed to and I highly recommend buying it if you want to save mucho dinero! :D Was this review helpful?
