5 of 5 $100 less than at TIVO and the same item! Wednesday, November 28, 2007
A Customer from Los Angeles, CA

LOVE IT! I works great. No real kinks. You can only record on one channel at one time, but I'm not greedy.

    5 of 5 TiVo R54080 Series2 Digital Video Recorder Tuesday, September 18, 2007
A Customer from White Plains, N.Y.
I've had a Pioneer DVR with DVD player/burner and the TIVO service for about 4 years. I also have a 40 hour TIVO Series 2 box. Recently, I subscribed to my local Cable company's DVR, and, after only 1 month, I sent it back to the Cable company and got another TIVO. TIVO programming is so much superior to that of a cable companys DVR that they can't be compared!!!! The TIVO service isn't cheap, but it's worth every penny to me and my family. We haven't missed a T.V. program in years!!!!

    5 of 5 Some Thoughts Monday, July 17, 2006
Long Beach CPA from Long Beach, CA
    1) Five stars. So what's better. 2) Perhaps the next series Tivo which records 2 shows at one time. 3) Has an ethernet port built-in. This one does not. So unless you use the phone line to update the TIVO listings, you will need to buy a "compatible" USB to Ethernet adapter ($25 and a trip to the store). The TIVO has a phone jack and two (2) USB ports.

5 of 5 Must Have TiVo! Friday, June 30, 2006
    Lily from Santa Clara, CA
I love my TiVo!!! Its been almost 7 years since I've been able to catch TV shows everyone is talking about because my only free time is usually after 10pm. Well, now I can watch all the shows I want, I can even pick my programs online AND skip thru commercials! How wonderful it is to have TV back in. I got to catch my Number One Favorite show LOST. Just for that show alone, I would buy TiVo. If you have a laptop, don't forget to download Tivo Desktop to transfer your recorded shows to you laptop. With everything being wireless these days... you can transfer shows anytime, anywhere.

    5 of 5 What a great product Thursday, January 13, 2005
    Johnmoc from South Brunswick, NJ
This is by far my favorite toy. It works better than I had expected. I don’t watch that much TV, only a few programs a week, but the difference is immeasurable. No longer do I have to rush home or check the VCR to tape 24. I can come in 15 minutes late and use the chasing playback feature to watch it without commercials. The scheduling process is so simple, one doesn’t even need to read the instruction book to use it. What really makes this product is what I didn’t know before I bought it. I love the ability to show my pictures and listen to my music from my computer hard drive through my TV. Also, the online scheduling is great. As a test, I asked the TIVO webpage to record a program for me 10 minutes before it started and it worked. I would give up my IPOD or XBOX long before this.

    5 of 5 Much better than Comcast's DVR Thursday, December 16, 2004
    A Customer from Washington, DC
I have to say that the Tivo Service does carry with it a lot more value than my cable company's DVR box. Setup to my wireless network at home could not be more simple. Simply plug in the wireless adaptor (I used Linksys WUSB12), type in my settings and done. The best part about this is scheduling recordings online (Cable can't do), and viewing photos and music files from my PC. Soon, this feature will expand to also allow me to transfer shows to my Laptop (Cable can't do). Therefore, if you just want to record TV, go with Cable's DVR, but if you want to have total control of the shows you want to watch, one word: Tivo.
