4 of 5 Top notch Teac R2 clock radio Thursday, December 25, 2008 Tarzan from San Antonio, Texas.
I've owned this radio for about a year and it continues to work great.
...
It looks cool and does everything I need, and it does it well.
...
The LCD is very bright, though. I have to turn it so that it doesn't face me because it will disturb my sleep. That's the only reason I'm giving it a 4.
...Overall, with the radio facing forward or away from the bed, this is an excellent product, especially for the $$. I think I paid about $30, shipped. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good clock, especially for blackouts Saturday, April 19, 2008 A Customer from Ann Arbor, MI
I love the fact that this will not lose time with blackouts and is rechargeable. I plug my MP3 player into it and listen to my favorite tunes while reading or relaxing in my bed. As others have mentioned, the digital face is way too bright for nighttime sleep. If you use a thin piece of fabric or glass dimming tape on the face it is OK. I like it and would buy it again. 3 of 5 Could be great Tuesday, February 12, 2008 A Customer from boston, ma
YES: Sound is great, good looking, sturdy case, good reception, rechargeable battery, audio input. I also like that channel and volume are exclusively set for each alarm.
A BIG NO: The light is ways too light for a bedroom. I always have to cover it. When the box is unplugged the light turns off. But when plugging it back in the next evening (it won't last another night) a little blue light indicating the charging process starts to blink with such an annoying intensity—closing your eyes you might think you are having a nap on Times Square!
Another torture is finding radio stations. There is a gap of silence when you turn the wheel. That means: turn-wait-turn-wait-turn.. minutes later: ah, a radio station!
An automatic finder would have been great.
Conclusion: Give the product designer a better job but send the programmers or whoever was involved with the electronics off to wash the dishes, clean the floors.. seriously: a good radio for use in the kitchen, if you know your stations.

5 of 5 Nice sound, good bargain Tuesday, January 29, 2008 A Customer from Hope Maine
I bought it to get radio stations I have had trouble receiving. It has not helped there, even with its additional antenna. Nonetheless, it has good quality sound and performs superior to other radios we have had. Its self-charging battery is a great convenience and a money saver as well. Very satisfied with the purchase at the price I paid. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Not just a clock radio. Tuesday, January 01, 2008 Dave B. from Pittsburgh, PA
I ordered this on a whim. The sound is as good as a quality boom box. The time and station are visible and the reception is superb. No static, easy to use and power supply are included. Sounds great with an MP3 player. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Liked it so much I bought 3 more Tuesday, December 25, 2007 cb from Chicago, IL
Great value ... well made ... good sound.
I bought one of these for myself. I was so impressed by the quality and value for the money, I purchased 3 more from Buy.com. Kept one of those (now I have 2)... and gave the other 2 as Christmas gifts. The recipients love them as well!

4 of 5 Great product for Holiday Special Price Tuesday, December 18, 2007 A Customer from Chicago, IL
Overall this is a great little radio. The reception on AM/FM is great in Chicago. Easy tuning of stations and the included aux cord makes playing ipods/zen/mp3 players totally simple.
Sound quality is above average for its size and the rechargable battery makes for some added flexibility if only the battery would hold up a little longer or if you had the ability to turn it off completely (clock stays on always).
All in all a great deal for $30! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Alarm Clock PLUS More Thursday, December 13, 2007 A Customer from San Jose, CA
I was looking for a replacement alarm clock with IPOD capability and radio.
The BUZZER is LOUD! and when I mean loud, its INSANE!
Also, the radio is really clear, the aux in works, and the sound and bass is really good for something this size. They made it just right to limit the Maximum volume for the loudest sound without any distortion from the lows, mids, or highs.
I have not used it as a portable, as I have my H2O Boomtube, but I'm sure it would work great if I ever need to take it on a trip. Too bad there isn't a travel case/bag that comes with it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great casual radio Tuesday, December 04, 2007 A Customer from Florida
Very nice "desktop" radio - not too big - excellent sound quality with bass + treble control - neat feature is rechargeable battery built-in - charges automatically when you're on AC - easy to tune (digital readout)
Order was packed very well and arrived as scheduled - no complaints - excellent service from Buy.com

4 of 5 Quality unit but flawed Friday, November 30, 2007 John from Tucson AZ
Overall quality is high - look/feel/reception/sound but the lcd at nite can double as a reading light. Two levels of brightness that are automatic but lower level is still way too bright. We block it with a book. May try for a better solution later. Backup battery would be great in power outages. Maybe they developed this in a completely bright room and neglected to test under real conditions. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great Device... Light Is Blinding! Wednesday, November 28, 2007 A Customer from Melbourne, Florida
All in all, the clock radio is terrific. Great sound, great reception, at a great price.
Just think of the slightly annoying glare that is immitted from the radio as a bright night light. I suppose I could cover up part of the dial with cardboard or electrical tape, but we are learning to live with it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 GREAT RADIO Wednesday, November 21, 2007 hillstreet3724 from Malverne, NY
Very good quality. So good I bought one for my son. Negative side - Backup battery was dead and unable to recharge. Called Teac and was told to mail back battery at my expense and a new one will be mailed. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good sound, great value Wednesday, September 26, 2007 Paul M. from Cleveland, OH
For the price, this little desk radio is a keeper! Looks sharp and has a nice sound (w/ bass & treble controls). The built-in rechargeable battery and AUX/iPod input are the icing on top. It doesn't compete with higher-end stero systems, but it's not designed to, either. For the $30 price (after rebate) and free shipping, you can't really go wrong. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good deal Tuesday, September 25, 2007 A Customer from Coplay PA
This is a stylish radio that is very functional. The MP3 jack lets my daughter listen to her Creative Zen, and the radio reception is much better than expected. If I had a need, I'd buy another one. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Nice Little Radio Tuesday, September 25, 2007 A Customer from Millersville, MD
I bought this radio to listen to in a room with no electrical service so I have to use the rechargeable battery. The battery lasts not quite for three days in between charges, which isn't bad.
The reception is pretty good too as I'm in an interior room that is hard to pick up reception. It doesn't take too long to find the best positioning for the wire antenna. There is usually little or no static.
It's a handy radio and so far after 2 months of use, it has worked well. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good radio but... Wednesday, August 29, 2007 Joe from Mount Vision, NY
It's a good little radio, with better-than-average sound quality but just fair FM reception. It's also not adjustable for brightness of the LCD screen for night; it has two settings, one bright when you're setting or tuning something, and one somewhat dimmer setting for night -- but it's still too bright. I put a paperback book in front of the LCD but that eliminates knowing what time it is in the midst of night. On the plus side, it has a rechargeable battery which powers the clock when the AC fails, something my old Sony didn't have at all. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Not bad for the price Tuesday, August 28, 2007 Brent from Farmington, MI
For $40 I paid (or the $30 now with rebate...) this is a pretty good radio. Some reviews compare it to the Tivoli line, but those are definitely higher quality in sound and constrution. Tivoli is also $60 more.
That said, this radio has some nice features: Big display, 10 presets, 90/30/30 min sleep, aux input and bass/treble controls.
Not so nice features: when charging, the blue light flashes brightly, and is annoying at night. The large display doesn't have a dim/bright function, it's bright all the time.
The speaker is OK+ and radio reception is decent.
It's a good buy for the sale price, just don't pay more than $40. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great Radio, Too Bright Night Light Tuesday, August 28, 2007 A Customer from Tucson AZ
Bought this for the bedroom nighttable. Great radio, good sensitivity for FM, good fidelity. Rechargeable battery operation is a big plus. Heavy, metal case looks like it will last forever. A bit involved for alarm use.
The Blue LED and White display are both very bright. I had to put two layers of tape over the LED. You can put something in front of the display. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 great MANUAL clock radio Tuesday, August 07, 2007 showgunx from Boston, MA
It would have been perfect if it came with 2 more features:
1. Auto Scan for stations
2. Remote Control
But for 37 dollars, it is so far the best deal I could find for equivalent products. Was this review helpful?
