Ace Hardware Black Friday Ad Removed

Today we received a request from Ace Hardware to remove their ad and so we have complied with their request. However, before everyone gets up in arms and threatens to boycott Ace, be aware that they don't have a problem with the ad being posted on the site early. Their issue is more that the ad has not been finalized and will likely change, perhaps significantly, before Black Friday. This happened with their ad last year, which was also the first ad of the year posted.

As a gesture of good will, they have even offered to provide us with a copy of the ad as soon as it is finalized: "When this ad is finalized and released for print in early November, our Advertising department will be more than happy to supply you with the final, approved copy."

If you had added items to your shopping list, those items will remain on your list and will appear once the final ad is re-posted, assuming those items are still in the ad. We apologize for the inconvenience, but rest assured as soon as we receive the finalized ad, we'll post it.

Ace Hardware 2008 Black Friday Ad Posted

It's the first week of August and believe it or not, we've received the first rumored Black Friday ad for 2008. The Ace Hardware Black Friday ad has been added to the site.

Note that because it is so early, there is a good chance that this may not be the final ad, but we're guessing it's pretty close. Ace was also the first ad we had last year, and a few of the items were removed before the final ad was published, so keep that in mind.

We know that at least until the ads really start rolling in in early November that there isn't too much news relating to Black Friday, so rather than have a static front page, we're using a blog-style page this year.
