    I have a couple of Bluetooth speakers. I was interested in a smaller speaker that could be charged via USB-C and had good sound. With the renewed pricing I decided to go for this Sony speaker. I am not disappointed given the size. It is not a powerhouse of any particular sonic quality, but it does sound good across some moderate bass, midrange, and highs. It charged quickly, and seems durable banging around in luggage and my back. Good value for the price.

    I want something small, portable, can be easily hung up, and loud to replace 1.5 year old JBL Go 3 that has a battery that's quickly failing. Short on time, as I'm only in the US for a few weeks, I've been playing this Sony SRX-XB13 mainly in the car while I run errands. The mids and highs are good, but it's been my experience that the bass is almost non-existent. This is playing pop, hip-hop, alternative, and spiritual music. Mids and highs are pretty good, however when I turn the volume all the way up, the sound distorts. This isn't excessively loud, but just almost loud enough.

    Maybe I received a dud, but I'd rather use the failing JBL or replace it with their newer model than use this Sony on my next trip.

    I was skeptical of sound quality since all YouTube reviewers mention some other brand speaker (JBL, Soundcore, “insert brand here”) is better sounding, has more bass, blah, blah, blah… I’ve been using a JBL charge 3 and JBL Xtreme 1 for a few years now. But when I first connected to this Sony XB13, I was amazed at how clear and well balanced it was. It is not a loud speaker, but it is loud enough to be able to hear your music indoors and out. Oddly enough, I find the sound quality to be better than the JBL charge 3, albeit, it is not as loud as the charge 3 and doesn’t have as much bass. However, if you prefer a clear sounding speaker that doesn’t sound muffled because it’s trying to make more bass, this is a speaker you must try. In terms of physical size, the diameter is about the same as a charge 3 (slightly smaller) and length wise, you will need 2.5 XB13s to be the same length as 1 charge 3. The quality of material is also very nice. It may not be as durable as the charge 3 if you are throwing it around and dropping it often because it will get scuffed and scratched, but I figure by the time it gets sufficiently damaged on the exterior, there will be a better speaker on the market at a similarly affordable price. All in all, I highly recommend this speaker!

    I got these speakers after purchasing a Portronics SoundDrum 1. Having used them for over a month, I have a few observations to share. Let’s start with the negatives, of which there are a few:

    - If your phone's speakers are inadequate like mine and you're seeking a speaker that can produce a loud sound output, these speakers might not meet your needs. I tried watching a couple of movies and shows with these speakers and found the experience somewhat disappointing. I spent 4,000 INR wanting something loud enough to enhance my movie viewing experience on a laptop and phone. If you are purchasing them for this purpose, these might not be the right speakers for you. And that's it. That is all the negative I have to say about them.

    Now, let’s move to the positives:

    - This speaker is ideal for music lovers, especially if you value clarity over loudness. While it doesn’t sound very loud when watching shows on Netflix or other OTT platforms, it’s surprisingly sufficient for music. There have been times when I was amazed by its sound quality, considering how small it is. It's the same size as the Portronics SoundDrum 1. However, the kind of sound it produces is far superior. The bass is a little too strong for my liking, but it definitely sounds better than many cassette players we've had in the past. It is ideal for the kind of music I enjoy. It is when I listen to music that I realize how well I have spent my money. I loved it for its music experience. If you are looking for something with excellent sound quality, these are the speakers for you.
